[WIP] 1:8 Portugal Map

Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

@BenganJ
You became moderator here ?
Will you insult people here as you're used in your roex forum ?
My mistake, not your forum : you only the one barking.
Go to your free 2.6 topic, people is talking about 2.9 paid mod : forbidden here.

Unfortunately the map is no longer in development.
This happens because of 2 reasons: personal things that made me not have much time for ETS anymore, and the loss of 6 months of work because of a disk failure (yes, I do have backups, but because of the symbolic link of the def folder, I lost all the def files, as I didn’t backup that). So I ended up losing lots of sign defs and prefab defs, and their order, so finding it again would take a VERY LONG time, and wouldn’t be so worth it as some parts of the map are already outdated, using old and different assets and prefabs and aren’t probably working anymore correctly (causing crashes). I remember having some trouble with the update to 1.37, and some crashes near the area of Fátima, and now that problem could be (even) worse. I am not retiring from the modding community tho and you could expect something from me soon, actually sooner than you might think (hoping PC problems won’t *Fluffy Bunny* me again, now it’s a disk/PSU related problem), but you have seen everything from Portugal 1:8 that you could have seen as there’s no more left. I might think about open sourcing it one day but still, it would be a very old and incomplete version, so not sure if really worth it.

Thanks for the comprehension and see you soon ;)

@olaf28 Yes, we will have Iberia soon indeed, but I wanted to make this clarification. Portugal 1:8 and Iberia are (and would be) completely different projects tho, as the number of cities, roads, and landmarks seen on a 1:8 map are completely different from a 1:19 one. And many Portuguese, at least, will feel that.

@NewCoolMapper
Off course these are two different maps. No doubt about this. And really you project look promising. And it is really a shame this is lost.!
And yes I saw that Portugal got not much attention from SCS. That is a shame. Lets hope someone will improve on that ;)

This video appeared in the project channel. Was the development revived?
