Rear Axle Weight Limits?

#1 Post by Zaxster99 » 24 Sep 2022 16:36

I would love it if ATS and ETS 2 simulated real world axle weight limits. Here in the US, a single rear axle can typically only handle 20,000 pounds. So if you're in a 4x2 day cab with a single trailer, the loads wouldn't be above 20K pounds. This could be a feature that can be disabled as well. I would love to drive a 4x2 truck with a 48 ft trailer and a light load, just because a trailer is 48ft doesn't always mean its going to be filled to the brim with cargo.

Exactly, I’ve seen some LTL carriers in real life get away with using a single axle tractor and a 53 foot trailer and its still perfectly legal to do so.

Ya weight limits need to be simulated. For a 4x2 tractor I believe is 66k (or 68 idr) gross if balanced right for bridge laws. I have a profile with low power 4x2 tractors and 45' trailers, I just dont accept a job more than about 28-32k lbs to keep it kinda realistic.
