Text Replacement not working properly

Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but text replacement has not been working properly since the 1.44 update.

I noticed this issue when overwriting save files with city names (yes I do that).

For example, when I try to change "Berlin (D)" to "Dresden (D)", I usually drag-select "Berlin" and replace it with "Dresden" without changing the "(D)".
Now, however, when I do that I get " (D)Dresden" (yes with the space at the start).

The bug has been around since at least 1.44 and is always reproducible in all beta and release versions since.
I have never used any mods. EVER. See game log for proof.
