Optionnal mods

You know that since version 1.45 of ATS, optional mods are supported by the game for convoys. Only, no one activates this option when creating a server, which means that we have to deactivate our mods (even the optional ones) in order to be able to play. Do you think this feature should be a basic feature rather than an option?

I don't think it's a good idea. If people want to play with friends and use mods, they can discuss it with themselves and then decide if they want to run normal or optional mods.
On random lobbies it is very risky, because it's super easy to use optional mods to troll other players, so it's safer to have this option off by default.
The smallest details always make the biggest difference.

I think Wolfi hit the nail on the head with this one.

Truthfully so far I’m not a huge fan of the optional mod feature and hope it’s only temporary as scs looks into the potential of something like dedicated severs with remote mod hosting or something along those lines.

Mark a vehicle mod as mp optional then have a hideous block as a place holder on other people’s screens which kills the point of mp in my opinion.

I personally feel the only purpose the optional mods feature serves at this point is for trivial things like real logo mods or economy mods. But that’s me.
