1:15 Scale
Hello, ya'llz. So, what do you think? I understand SCS doesn't have a large team, so do you think they would be able to manage expanding the scale once again to 1:15 at least, before moving
to the East Coast? I haven't bought ATS yet because of a few things (patiently waiting for Texas!) and I'm not too happy about the current scale.
This was mentioned in an old thread, but they wanted 1:10 scale. viewtopic.php?t=279260 Sorry if that's against SCS forum rules.

Re: 1:15 Scale
While it would help some areas we already have (Great Salt Lake, various mountain passes, squished cities, Wyoming I-80), there is a near zero chance we'll be seeing a rescale.
The only possibility would be a modder doing it, and again, very low chance.
Texas will be the most populous new state, so we'll see how SCS handles a large number of metropolises. By the East Coast (if we get that far), it'll be incredibly urban, but hopefully there are features to make things more interesting.

Ya im a little worried about the New england area. Theres places, as the bird flies, is only like 30min apart lol. I wonder if they will scale different there like UK. Problem is no ferry or waterway. Would it be noticable for scale to change whilst we drive?seriousmods wrote: ↑04 Oct 2022 08:11 While it would help some areas we already have (Great Salt Lake, various mountain passes, squished cities, Wyoming I-80), there is a near zero chance we'll be seeing a rescale.

I doubt it: in all likelihood those areas will just be one big metro area (or really close together). Changing the scale would mess up a lot of things if done in only part of the map.
Re: 1:15 Scale
Map scaling is a complex/tricky subject. On one hand you want something big enough that you can put a reasonable amount of detail, but on the other want something small enough that players can reach most any delivery in a reasonable amount of time (ie not taking several days to drive cross country like it does in real life). I personally feel the current 1:20 is a good fit for both of those viewpoints. As far as the smaller north east region scs will just omit certain areas just like they have in these larger map DLC’s. I don’t think we’ll see 1:15 at this point, because they’d have to go rescale all current map DLC’s and any future ones that’s are already in development.
Re: 1:15 Scale
Mississippi River might work; bisects the country in half north to south. The scale could change once we hit there.

Re: 1:15 Scale
no it wont, you will notice it and it will screw with the map, especially if Canada should ever come to the game

Re: 1:15 Scale
Ya that wouldnt work for a multitude of reasons but..... One, thats just bridges that connect the two halves across the Mississippi river. Two, Illinois Indiana Ohio kentucky, all those midwest states and some of the northern portions of the south are very sparse. Corn fields, small highway towns and hills, sometimes hills anyways. Upping the scale in those areas would make for a monotonous game. I'm originally from IN, let me tell you the real drive is BORING lol. Though most of the midwest is like that, even on the other side of the river.
