Bonus pay for safety

#1 Post by 1948LJMack » 28 Nov 2022 20:59

Eventhough it's not mandatory to stop at all railroad grade crossings, but what if there was a way to where we would get rewarded for it such as an extra $10.00 for each time we bring the truck to a full stop at railroad grade crossings when hauling fragile cargo. In many places, at least there used to be a federal law that would require all truck drivers hauling flammable liquids to stop at all railroad grade crossings just like a bus driver. The reason why I thought of this is because in real life, we know that some grade crossings can be pretty rough. And if you are hauling something fragile, such as china cups, and it breaks while you are on delivery, the one that is buying that cup, that person is expecting to see that china cup in one piece. If he or she finds out that it is broken, you could get in trouble for it. One thing that can cause damage to cargo is weather. If the roads are slick when wet, sometimes it's best to pull off to the side of the highway and stop. There is a mod that is on Steam that gives you more time to deliver. To me, those more time to deliver mods are good for safety. What if there was a reward for also stopping off alongside the highway during bad weather. Like a $1,000 bonus for stopping when there is a bad storm out and it to hard to see the road ahead of you.
