Any direction is welcomed by me... I like the plains because I can easily zoom by them due to it's mostly straight road network and I also like the southern states because of the different biome and scenarios these will bring, so either way, it's a win/win situation for me.

If they do all of Texarkana in the Texas DLC, I'm sure we will get all of KC including Independence and Overland Park.

@Trakaplex Kansas City is a different situation. Texarkana is a town that straddles the border. Kansas City MO has a metro area that leaks into Kansas. Overland Park isn't a DFW or Twin Cities type of city, so the only reason we'd get it as marked is if SCS wants to give us some but not all of the KC metro area before Missouri comes.

Washington DC and Alexandria VA is sort of a similar situation. Although I don't think Alexandria is considered to be a suburb. And there's not much room for it at 1:20 scale. But if we pretend that that part of the country was similarly rural to Kansas, then I think Alexandria could come with Virginia if SCS wanted to get us a taste of the DC metro area before the DLC that included DC. That's how I see Overland Park anyways.

The biggest issue I see with splitting up Kansas City is how long will it take to get Missouri. Where will technology be? If new advancements, that could make the other half of Kansas more noticeably less than it would be if the 2 cities had distance between them. Lets say Dallas to Texarkana. If Texarkana comes with Arkansas, the quality differene within that distance won't be as bad considering they are not the same city mapped at different times.

If Missouri is next after Kansas, this isn't much of an issue. Not sure how likely that is, but they did mention route 66, so it's certainly a possibility.

The builder rate won't make the quality drop vastly seeable, as to NM to TX even if all of both Kansas Cities doesn't make it in one DLC. I mean if in theory KS/NE is being worked on, I could see MO/IA as early as 2025. They'd just have to touch up the older parts of the city. Overland Park could be scenic only though, it's just a suburb on the Kansas side. It could be prepped so that the rest of KC absorbs it. If we get Texarkana with TX as well, we could see I-49 in full stretch in two years.

An option would be combined KS and MO dlc or simultaneous release of both so we don't have to worry about bordering cities. The same strategy could be applied for NE and IA.
I hope they don't ditch the Kansas side anyway so many interesting depots, important of which is BNSF (garc) largest yard

That is an option for sure. Another reason to build 2 columns side by side.

Looking like it's just Kansas coming after OK. Hopefully that means it will be nice and dense.

Nebraska will come solo... Like I said, it was a 50/50 chance. Possibly another year with only 2 states. So much for their speech of picking up their pace.
