Unable to verify login

Hello

So for some reason whenever i try to login to Euro Truck Simulator 2 without a VPN its ''Unable to verify'' yet when i use a VPN it goes through without a hitch. Now as far as i know the country im in (The Netherlands) shouldnt be blocked from ETS2, so what could be the problem here? It works with a VPN but not without seems about weird. Also pretty sure it has nothing to do with my firewall since ive already tried several things suggested with that (unblocking the game, resetting it, etc etc)

EDIT: So i figured out it has something to do with my DNS. is it possible to get this fixed without using the Google or OpenDNS one?
