What’s going to be so funny is how much the game can open up with DX12 and multi core and some people saying they could have done this before. First off, no one said it’s the magic fix. People keep twisting what DX12 and multi core could do. It allows more efficient task, not fix all. 2nd, it’s been said numerous times, they will not continue to develop under the old engine. Makes zero sense. So anything added after the engine update, is new content or improved that we did not have before. Just like always. If SCS thinks they are making improvements.....they are making improvement for something they are planning in the future.

So when new stuff does come, you guys saying nothing will change......keep that same energy. There are way more days in the future ahead than there are days in the past. If nothing new is coming.......keep saying that. When that new comes.....doesn’t matter. Just know they are not updating this game engine for no reason. If they didn’t want to do more, they surely wouldn’t be wasting time upgrading this engine of theirs. They’d milk it out.

Do they? Got any quotes of people saying that?
Bro, read thru the threads and posts regarding DX12. Lotta posts there hoping DX12 fixes everything. Lotta posts hoping facilitates adding all sorts of features. I'm not going to quote every single one of them.

I didn't realize that was such a secret.... LOL.

Yeah, people are expecting SCS development philosophy to change despite a decades-long track record of doing things a certain way.

We probably will yet dirt, and multicore will bring better performance, but beyond that, I don't know.

One thing is people expecting DX12 to magically fix everything, another thing is knowing what DX12 will allow SCS to do if they give DX12 the proper use, 2 very different things.

^Yeah there's a clear difference but no point in trying to explain that the two are different. People will think what they think. I haven't seen one person say DX12 and multi core will fix everything. I certainly didn't say that if that's what some are trying to imply.

Yeah I don't think anyone actually made that claim.

Implicit, not explicit

@Grizzly You can think whatever you'd like bro.

Edit: I did the extraordinarily light lifting for you. On page 2 of the forum is this thread: viewtopic.php?t=312847

234 posts across 24 pages. Littered with hopes and dreams of what DX12 will provide. It talks about the game engine, but there was a lot of hopes and dreams in that thread re: DX12 support and all the glorious things it'd provide the game.

Eh, I recall the same hopes and dreams being expressed in regards to DX11.

@VTXcnME You linked to a whole other thread that some people may not have read or two, don’t know what all is in there. We are talking about in this thread no one made that statement what it fixes.
