And thus we're entering midwest.
Hope the stay is short.

Yep......the MidWest should be interesting the further East we get. Its the road to the Great Lakes like Pavel mentioned last year with his comment about Route 66 and corn, corn, corn. Eastern US is closer to what ETS2 brings vs Western US so it should start to feel more like Europe for some.

This question is off topic, but if anyone knows of a great site with mods for ATS or ETS2 that are really worth trying, I'm open to all mods except map mods (I use promods for maps, that's enough for me)

With Oklahoma and Kansas now on my wishlist the game is moving into the Great Plains. But I'm beginning to get a nagging feeling in the back of my head that driving through there may become expensive. If Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota are also individual DLCs then I might not buy those. I'm hoping that there will be a "Great Plains Special" DLC in the future.

I'm looking forward to the wide open spaces and long straight roads.
What good is a world without good detail?

More than likely there will be a bundle for the GP states. But it is way in the future for when all release. For many that love maps, its not worth the wait. But I fully expect many to avoid those so called flyover states. Its SCS's job to entice people to not skip dlc's imo.

As the blog stated, Kansas is pretty much the heartland for agriculture. Almost dead center of the US. Flyover states is the perfect time to bring innovation and exploit certain industries. Complex prefabs, multi drop, all new weather system..... are just a few to name that can help the GPs. We get severe weather in Torando Aisle here. Seasons is a ways out too but doesn't mean improvements to weather have to wait as well. Weather should be phased. So if this game engine update is 2023 bound, it would be nice to see some great things innovation wise to help push the Great Plains.

And into another monotonous blog year we go. Which basically summarizes to:

-Map DLC post,
-Map DLC post,
-Map DLC post,
-Rework post,
-Map DLC post,
-Map DLC post,
-Rework post,
-W.I.P Content that we'll probably take well over a year to come out,
-Repetitive Event Announcement post
-and straight back to Map DLC post again and so on.

Would be nice if they made blogs dedicated to things that actually improve gameplay and performance... But that's just not gonna happen. SCS should even change the blog's name to Map Blogpost Simulator.

On the 2020 Xmas stream it was said that 2021 would be a year with a lot of major improvements and that Pavel was confident about it... We only saw Convoy mode as the only meaningful update.
On the 2021 Xmas stream the same thing was said and we only saw Driveshaft Torque as the only (kind of) meaningful update (Adjustable suspension was nice but honestly.. It should have come out way before close to the Liftable Axles update).
On the 2022 Xmas stream the same thing was, once again, said and I doubt that 2023 will be any different than '22, '21 and '20.

Pavel said on the Montana Release Stream that as we were moving into the Midwestern states, they would be bringing new gameplays mechanics. They are definitely working as stated by Pavel on the Christmas Stream last year, when they feel comfortable sharing to the public, they will share. Just a patience question. It's no use for them to share anything now, even if they have something in the Alpha stage, because the moment they share it, people will start demanding that they release.
