No it wasn't. The in-game W900L is crap and not even close to size, dimensions and proportions of the real truck. Look at any part on the SCS W900 and you can be 100% sure it's not correct.
And the fact the W900 on the photos didn't have tags for 3D scanning just means that the truck will not be rebuilt from scratch. It just means that it MAY get slight model tweaks and nothing more. I only hope that they will at least fix interior mirror positions to actually show how far from the narrow cab they are in real life, so that if we won't see new models, we at least get a bit more immersive driving experience.
The smallest details always make the biggest difference.

the markers on the trucks are for Photogrammetry and not for 3D scanning, SCS doesnt do this, the Scania was the only one where they did it to test it out and even then it was also made with Photogrammetry and every truck since has been still made with either CAD, Photogrammetry or both

A lot of people who play ATS aren't massive trucks nerds, just showing a photo and say "see for yourself" isn't gonna work unless you're showing something truly and obviously crap (at least by modern standards), like the old 18 Wheels of Steel model. The current W900 looks good at first glance, and personally while I can see some off proportions, I don't think it's enough to ruin the model for me. I really think it still does a good job at representing a W900, especially considering it was made right before CAD/photogrammetry was a standard thing.

i think the vnl is the next, then we know they´re working in the nex gen peterbilt and kenworth, as well as the 389x and w990, i think that one of this might be coming in 2024, but i don't think they will be the 4 next trucks coming to the game after the vnl, i suspect there's something more in the works that we don't know, since the visit to record thoose trucks is recent, probably we will see vnl, and then intercalated with those wil be something like the hx, pinnacle or even the ws 4900 if they already got the license.
But for now, the next one i think it will be the vnl

trucks in ETS2: 2022 xf, fh16, r730, stralis hy-way, magnum, old actros, old fh16, old xf and old stralis

This is also my take on the current W900. Its not the greatest but its not terrible either. At least for me. I can tell what the truck represents and for me, that's good enough. I'm not hard to please when it comes to truck accuracy. It could be worse. ATS trucks could be 18 WoS quality. I'll take ATS quality for the first 4 trucks any day over 18 WoS.

I do agree that the W900L we have in game does a good enough representation of the truck and that's all that matters for a lot of people and it's fine, many will never notice what's wrong with it and that's also fine, but when you get used to work with 3d models, you notice inconsistencies everywhere and that drives you crazy, but i can tolerate the quality of the W900 to an extend, after all, it's my main truck in ATS and i'm just happy they are improving it in one way or another, my main wish is that they fix the proportions/position of the headlights, that alone would make it look SO much better.

the question is, will SCS revamp W900 and 389 in time for the disconinuation? and when will we get the W990 and 567?

@Enjoyingorc6742 They did showed a picture of a w990 on the Christmas stream, So its still possible next year or more. Also discontinuation won't really matter for the two trucks if we are getting a tuning pack for the W900 and a 389X version for the current 389.

I think the 389X might still come as a separate truck. On that note, isn’t it missing from the poll? I think it’s a more likely addition than the 567.
