Head tracking works in ETS2 and everywhere EXCEPT ATS

Hey there,

I really can't seem to sort this out. I've tried FaceTrackNoIR and Opentrack and I have no problem with head tracking in ET2, Assetto Corsa, SW Squadrons and other games that support it. Just works right out of the box.

Not the case with ATS2 (the game I need it the most). I've seen three places with config.cfg files (Docs > ATS and the CONFIGs directory under Docs > ATS) and I've made sure they all use this setting: uset g_trackir "1"

I do have some mods running, but nothing aside from some maps and adjustments to tracking, etc. Mods directly from the Steam Workshop.

Does anyone have any ideas of other settings I may be able to check? Just doesn't make sense since these apps play nicely with everything else including ETS2.

Compare the ETS2 files to ATS and look for differences. The games use the same engine, so what works for one should work for the other.

One thing to try, is to back up your ATS config file and then delete it so the game can create a new default one.

Thanks for the reply. I did previously back up the original config by renaming it and then deleting it so the game would make a new one. Didn't help.

I think that to properly troubleshoot it, I'll have to finish my delivery to Texas and then try disabling all the mods and try it again (I assume deleting mods would trigger the game to cancel my delivery?)

So I finished my run to Waco TX and disabled all of the mods. Restarted and tracking didn't work.

Proceeded to uninstall and backup the ATS directory in Documents.

Went back to Steam to reinstall and looked under the General settings section. It had all of my previous options still in there. Enable Steam Overlay... Launch Options to ask which version to run every time I launch the game... and then I saw it... the additional launch options field where I had the "- oculus" setting for my VR headset.

Ugh... 20 bucks says that's the culprit. Guess we'll find out after 12GB download.
