Logitech G27 randomly feels loss of steering signal for a split second?

#1 Post by bobalazs » 26 Mar 2023 10:30

With one of the recent updates, (maybe this, not sure New understeer slip effect simulating tyre slip when vehicle is understeering) or maybe 1.44,
let's say i'm making a cornering, and in the middle of the turn the steering for like a half or 1 second, feels like as if the steering was not turned at all, like as if the wheels 's facing forward, then suddenly the steering is applied just like it was in the middle of the turn before.
It happens very randomly, can not figure out the cause.

Are you on the beta? The random road bumps affect FFB.

Have not perceived any 'understeer' using a G27 on ATS/ETS2 version 1.46 .

@bobalazs This is normal for Logitech steering wheels after update 1.42. Actual solutions to the problem: reconcile with fate; turn on the centering spring effect in the Logitech driver by 15-20%; disable FFB. Oh, and of course buy Trustmaster products or a DD device.

The reliability of Logitech steering wheels is time-tested. The most common problem is a broken encoder. Perhaps it is cracked and needs to be glued or a new one purchased.

@bobalazs here are a few more details on how my G27 is configured -- in particular I set both the wheel (via Logitech Profiler) and the ATS / ETS2 game to use 780 degrees for steering. Part of me wonders if the "loss of steering" might be due to differences in wheel degrees configurations.

Using Windows 10, installed Logitech Gaming Software ; Version: 5.10.127 ; Last Update: 2010-03-30 (but still seems to function; friends have reported it also works with Windows 11). Logitech download link: https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/artic ... cing-Wheel

Configured the Logitech Profiler to use 780° wheel rotation in Options/ Global Device Settings.
Also configured Logitech Profiler to start ATS and ETS2.

Configured ATS / ETS2 via Options/ Gameplay/ Truck Settings/ Steering Animation Range to also use 780°.

Finally, I start ATS / ETS2 from the Logitech Profiler (not via steam directly).

Issue was caused by some usb issue, signal cutout.
Turned off xmp in ram, and it's not present now.
