Long terms plans are the easiest to change and that would bring a lot of disappointment and whining by a part of the fanbase as we have already experienced.

There have been long term plans announced and we know they are being worked on (game engine, AI, seasons); still people complain why we don't get regular updates.

And then there are the short term plans announced when SCS is confident that they won't change ie new trucks or next map coming up.

Were did SCS announce that they are working on seasons? And what part of the game engine are they working on?

I'll let you keep thinking that. It was already hinted that more complexity was coming on last years Xmas stream.

That may be true, but event complexity has nothing to do with the engine upgrade.

I'm not implying events have anything to do with the game engine update. I'm only implying that because of the game engine update, things can get more complex. My comment was addressing gameplay. Events most definitely won't have to continue in the state they are in. If the game overall get improvements due to the update, so does events.

The only way game engine can affect gameplay is when they will remove multicore bottleneck - which can lead (not directly) to some gameplay improvements. But, this is more related for extra performance, that can be used for extra complicated calculations. Other than that, it will allow for some fireworks, better graphics, dust, maybe finally fixing that tunnel lighting.
Gameplay is not much correlated with game engine. Game engine is how things are generated in the world, while gameplay is what is generated.

Last I remember events solely depend on WoTr ;) the game engine only has an API for WoTr and that is not likely to be improved by an engine update, feature-wise.

In the trailer market in Europe, is there such a flatbed transporter?

Hopefully in the future America Truck Simulator will add these trucks: Freightliner 122SD/Century/Columbia/FLD/Cascadia/Coronado, Kenworth T800/T880/W990,Volvo VNX740, International HX520/ ProStar, and MACK Pinnacle, MACK Titan.

I discovered a nice feature in ATS and ETS2: Variable traffic light phases I would call it. In ATS for example in the past the lights for the left and the forward traffic worked one after the other. Now in some situations both go green at the same time. I guess it is if there is no opposing traffic present. In ETS2 I had been to Nürnberg. There was a little queue at one traffic light. Here I realized the next green phase coming a lot earlier probably because there was no cross traffic.

A small but really nice feature (I hope it is a feature... ;)), SCS! :D

I talked about exactly this in one thread, I called it the new traffic light algorithm, but it works like this only at traffic lights in ATS and at such intersections where there is only one turning lane to the left
