I'm about to make a similar move with a new PC using Win 11 (from Win 10) this weekend.

Just confirming that Steam will take care of reinstating all my current mods via the workshop excluding Kriechbaum's Mega sound pack v4.2 which I've already backed up.

But, more importantly to be able to continue my profile/career on the new PC without starting over from scratch... what specific folder or folders should I copy across to the new install?
Should I just copy the entire "My Documents\American Truck Simulator" folder or should I be more specific to avoid conflicts with the newer version of windows etc?

Thanks in advance 🤔

Game will load over fine. Mods should go too if they were steam workshop mods (mine did).

Follow the advice to copy your saved game files and all should be fine. Should just need the actual save game files.

Thanks, I have since made the switch and all was well with my career and company intact with the restore.
Really enjoying Texas scenery without the constant stuttering now.

Has anyone had experience with Windows 11 Mini, apparently this is a version without any bloatware installed.
You can run this in old computers with limited HD space.
I am building a new PC and am interested if Win 11 Mini is worth trying as this should help the PC run much faster as I think Win 11 Mini is less than a quarter of the size of the full version

@Antic:
As far as I know, there is no official Windows 11 Mini version, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong (please post a link). However, there would be no real point in installing such a version on a PC either, since the only difference is the amount of disk space required for the installation. I've just built myself a new PC and with the prices for M2 SSDs it's "saving at the wrong end".

Just FYI: My first 1 GB HDD cost 700 DM (round about 470 $) in 1995. (-;

Yes, that is correct.
Windows 11 mini sounds like a great idea though to preserve resources for gaming, I was thinking I don't use hardly any of the bloatware that comes with the OS.

@Antic:
I once created a clean Windows 10 without the bloatware with the tool winreducer. With the next function update, however, the bloatware came up again. And it won't be any different with Windows 11. Therefore you can save yourself a mini version, unless you create or get a corresponding update package for the next function update.

If your new PC has at least 16 GB of RAM then it shouldn't make any difference whether a normal or a stripped down Windows 11 is used.

@Antic:
Unfortunately, the automatic forced updates without being able to deactivate or configure them has become the standard in recent years. Worst of all is Steam, they even ignore the in-game settings (e.g. in ATS and ETS 2 after the first launch I disabled automatic updates but Steam does the updates anyway).

how so you disable automatic updates in games when Steam itself handles the updates for said games and not the game itself ?, ATS/ETS2 have no update options themselfs
