Poll: Choose (3) States you would like to see next
Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
^Nope, lol...........and that's why the options are only adjacent states. In due time, SCS will get there. I can see them at least finishing the US worse case scenario. I think once we can get 3 maps a year minimum, the dlc's will really start rolling out.
I really hope ATS can hold together beyond the US though. I'd really love to get to Canada and Mexico without mods someday.

My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Yeah I don't want to see any non-contiguous DLC additions for the rest of ATS's lifespan, besides Hawaii/Cuba/Hispaniola. And I'm sure that will be the case.

i opted for the both dakotas by a certain reason, defining interfaces for canada mod maps, e.g. Promods. So they can go further on and and have a kind of "Planungssicherheit"
Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
It won't happen, but I still hope to see LA and AR. With a point in that MS/AL/GA/FL direction.
KS/NE/SD/ND continue a biome we've seen and are familiar-ish with. I wanna see the bayou and biomes of a sub tropic area.
Despite my hopes: I honesty I expect we'll see NE/SD/ND in 2024. 2023 gets us OK and KS (obvi). 2025 before they start on (start on this column, not all the states we get that year) the LA/AR/MO/IA/MN column. And after that, the column approach won't work, as the state borders start getting messier. I hope that's when they focus on the southeast.
More map teams, I was hoping they'd split and go up and east from Texas. Work both lines. Eeeh. Guess it'll all fill in (hopefully) at some point.

I'm still thinking 2023 is more likely than 2024 for the state that follows Kansas. But we'll have a better idea I think around the time Oklahoma comes out.

Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
^Agreed. There's still a shot at a third state for 2023 imo. Considering SCS only reveals 2 w.i.p. states at a time, Oklahoma has to be on the verge of release or released to know the answer.
Unfortunately it might be easier for SCS to continue the current column of states due to similarities and assets. So the Bayou states pushes back. The Dakotas could knock out 2 birds with one stone. 1) complete the GP states by finishing out the transition states to heavily wooded terrain and 2) complete another full column of states and keeps the map boxed. This extends every West to East route equally.
At that point of completion, there's only one option, the next column of states. Back when SCS choose Washington after Oregon when most wanted Utah to start filling in.....it's going to be the same with the Dakotas I bet. I agree with @VTXcnME about the border mess after the next column of states. The pattern gets messy. It could be easier to start the East push from North to South though. That would be Illinois and Wisconsin....the Great Lakes which is the new target.
Who knows by time the Great Lakes are surrounded, if another map team emerges. It's possible but our wallets decide that like Pavel always says. But if SCS goes by borders, the next column of states in full would include Arkansas and Louisiana fortunately. Basically, fill in all states West of the Mississippi first kinda.

Unfortunately it isn't any more beneficial. ProMods have nowhere near the manpower SCS does, and as it currently stands, they have yet to even touch Alberta, if not just barely. At least the last teaser of Alberta was literally a non-existent space. And unless you want quality equivalent to that of C2C mod, I don't see them getting to Saskatchewan even long after SCS does the Dakotas imho.
Two wrongs don't make a right, three lefts...do
Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
I think Nebraska has a good chance of being released in 2023. After Texas came out, some mappers went back to California, others to Kansas. There must be some left though, probably working on Nebraska or Texas 2.0.

It can't be for 2023. Look how long Oklahoma so far. Even tho it's not a big state but it takes months to make a state.
