Re: California truck games comparison
I remember when Rig'n'Roll teaser was released when I was around 14-15 years old back in 2002, I used to remember thinking to myself how realistic the California roads were being that I am a california native. Once the game finally came out on November 2009,I was 23 years old by then, I had a drivers license and drove around almost the entire California irl, thats when I finally realized how bad the rig'n'roll map was. I know SCS is doing a California rework, I hope they end up doing a better job than R'n'R.

I just bought Rig N Roll today to try it out. Obviously, ATS is a much superior game in almost every way, but it definitely has RNR has some perks.
The first thing I notice is the hills:

This is from going from Reno west towards Sacramento. I love how (similar to Reforma), the RNR map designers made the size of the hills impressive. Even in the California rework, the backdrops surrounding SCS's Donner are quite underwhelming.
It's a very dated game, but still has some charm and a few features that no game on the market offers.

I played Rig N Roll a ton. Lots of fun with the storyline and the things you can do. The map wasn't that small, felt like 1/2 of the ATS cali map size...
Re: California truck games comparison
Not even close. SCS is better now and will get even better after the rework is finished.
