SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Re: [6.9]Volvo Drivetrain revision
I cannot speak for the game, but I can attest that in real life the differences in choices can make such a huge difference. For example, my current truck, which is a 2022 VNL 860, my company has a VERY weak engine in it. It's just a D13 425. It's as economy as it gets. Under full load (78,000 to 80,000 lbs, which is what I almost always run at) I am still getting between 7 and 8 mpg. In the mountains it drops to lower 7's/upper 6's, which is still decent for any semi truck under full load.
Despite the weak engine, however, I constantly blow by trucks climbing the mountain passes, because we offset the weak engine with an I-Shift 12-speed transmission (please don't ask me the specs. I can't recall and my truck is at the terminal as I write this) which has gear rations that handle hills like a beast. We did this because a HUGE part of our routes are al;l mountain driving in the Western states, even though we do run the entire lower 48.
At the company I was with before, on the other hand, we were running Cummins X15 beasts of an Engine, which performed outstandingly well in Eastern states, but the transmissions were absolute crap, so I HATED running the Western states with that truck (2023 T680 Next Gen).
I know none of this relates to the mod at all, but I felt like contributing to the conversation of Drive Trains for the Volvo in General. Stay safe and have a wonderful weekend, folks.

fae - the ishift 12sp has been standard volvo equipment for nearly a decade now. your truck is absolutely nothing special. it is bare bones and it is blowing by absolutely nothing. at full load you are crawling at 12mph uphill. since its a company truck you are probably just gunning it way harder than somebody who owns his truck and pays for his own fuel. thats why you might be passing them, it certainly isn't because you are faster.
happy driving.
happy driving.
when potholes and winter?

I think you misunderstood my post.ilovevolvo wrote: ↑31 May 2023 06:33 fae - the ishift 12sp has been standard volvo equipment for nearly a decade now. your truck is absolutely nothing special. it is bare bones and it is blowing by absolutely nothing. at full load you are crawling at 12mph uphill. since its a company truck you are probably just gunning it way harder than somebody who owns his truck and pays for his own fuel. thats why you might be passing them, it certainly isn't because you are faster.

Gunning it? I highly think not. You absolutely cannot gun a governed down slow company truck. I drive the same as literally every other company driver on the road. Because I am a company driver means I have less power and less ability than most trucks (owner ops are not governed and have WAY more power than I do). I drive both stick and automatic, and with automatic you just put it in drive and ... well ... drive. As for "owns trucks and pays for own fuel", owner ops are not in the same category and they ALWAYS will blow by a company truck regardless. My comparison is, of course, compared to trucks that are in the same category, which is company/fleet trucks.
I never said I was faster, and I never said my truck was special in any way. Not sure where you got that impression. I merely said that the Volvo 12 speed I-shift does better on hills than other trucks I've driven, and that it was awesome considering the VERY weak economy engine I am running in the same setup. Even my friends who hate Volvos admit the I-Shift is a better climber as far as automatic transmissions go. That T680 NG I was driving last year (remember that one? I spoke about it, too) couldn't do near what the Volvo drivetrain could do. And I drove it exactly the same way.
At no point did I ever say I was faster. Far from it. I am one of the SLOWEST trucks on the road due to being governed at the speed I am at. I merely said the I-Shift can CLIMB better as far as automatic trucks go (though, yes, ANY stick shift can outclimb an automatic no matter what). So, yeah, it feels nice to pass trucks on hills while at max gross.

Re: [6.9]Volvo Drivetrain revision
Hi, i want to give suggestion to include the 405 HP TC engine in the nex update, so in total we'll have 9 different ratings for D13TC for Volvo. 3 405, 3 425, and 3 455.
Current truck : 2021 Scania 660 S - Twin wheel tag
Re: [6.9]Volvo Drivetrain revision
If you can provide the torque curves, I am happy to include it.
