I drive a box trailer IRL mostly and most of my cargo is crates, I don't even get to see my cargo even if I want to, it's just a bunch of boxes inside of a box.
Are you doing drop and hook or rollup door? I assume someone has to open the trailer doors at some point.

I recently delivered a tankerload of milk to an intermodal yard while starting a new profile. It's still an issue.
That's why i said "that problem with logistic companies is another topic.", an intermodal yard classifies as a logistic company, not as a supermarket.

They are only really used for stuff like food delivery to small business stores, homes, schools, and other less prominent places. Flatbed rigids are really only used for local delivery from home stores/ landscaping to homes or small businesses. None of which exist in the current game. A rigid update would have to come with alot more delivery options.
Rigids could have a place in ATS currently imho. Check out the link I posted Monday in the Volvo thread here viewtopic.php?p=1820213#p1820213. Click the links for moving style, flatbeds, dumpers and tankers. All apply for ATS. They have to add more suitable places but multi drop helps open up options if that feature ever comes. If rigids do come, we also need the ability to drive without an attached trailer so that could open up smaller places which shouldn't generate if we have a trailer attached.

How is that any different from owned trailers? Yes, I'd like to have a cargo system revamped (with visible cargo and multidrops) but rigids might be introduced even without it.

Maybe they are, but on the other hand there was a swap-body rigid concept art on Texas microsite, so maybe SCS didn't abandon the idea completely

I hope swap-bodies won't be the only rigid type though and we will get regular rigids as well

^Its a start least. If they can get swap bodies to work, regular rigids should be a breeze.

I may be wrong but to me regular rigids seem like an easier task than swap bodies

No, swap bodies is easier, it will basically be a trailer without wheels that goes on top of the truck, for rigids the truck needs to be able to carry cargo on it's own.

There is no difference, both have to carry cargo, the Swap Body one is visible box with goods while the other one is just a text file, Swap Bodies should be even hat er because you have to programm the unloading process of the bodies, I do not want them to make it an Enter and done Job but like the thought concept they showed years ago

Which is why I mention if they can get swap bodies working, regular is easy. A swap body is basically a container trailer chassis but attached to the truck. Get that all working and the hardest part is done for rigids. Both have cargo but the swap body is part of the cargo as there should be multiple bodies to put on just like a container trailer. Regular rigid (owned), you are stuck with what you have until you change it manually with skins or what not.
