Re: West Balkans Expansion Discussion
In two months it will be one year since the "Guess where we are" blog but also in three months it will be one year since the Switzerland Rework teaser blog with the same title.
If West Balkans gets released in September then it will be released after one year and three months, the same as Iberia. I'm not comparing here Heart of Russia because it's not as complex as these two.
Iberia was huge but also complex with a big road network and other things, and the same amount of complexity on a smaller scale with similar countries but different in details is what makes West Balkans most complex and diverse DLC, this is most probably what will they start saying when the release starts getting closer. Also, the current rate of blogs is indicating that the release won't happen until November or December, if nothing changes in the number of blogs in a month or two, the release will be by the end of this year or in Q1 of 2024.
I'm not complaining, I'm just observing the current situation. Oklahoma is full speed in marketing and West Balkans looks like it's still in the first phase of marketing, best case scenario will be if they planned to kick start after Oklahoma is released...

Ok so
ATS map teams do 3 things. Cali rework, which is a huge task, and two new states, which are getting smaller and smaller as they go east, nearly in parallel, so not surprising that they're serving two per year. Can't compare those. ETS2 map teams are doing *at least* 3 things, Germany rework pt.2, Switzerland, WB and NorScan being probably still in research phase. All those seem to be much more complex than the states on the plains and their typical gridmap American cities.
Now, Iberia, it started getting more frequent posts only in January, but it also had in total a half of posts that are estimated for WB. After over a year of development mind you. So big and yet the posts didn't reflect it, so I expect WB to be in the same situation.
As for the marketing, obviously, you don't hype up for something else if you want to sell one thing first. Once OK and all related stuff is out of the way, WB campaign will come in full swing.

Certainly since the pictures didn't show them in winter attire IIRC. So the photos were old.

@xXCARL1992Xx I was talking about the mapping of the DLC itself, which started in April of this year, not the research
