I think free weekends needs to unlock the entire game.......everthing. If people want to see what the game has to offer, the base maps are not a good example to do it. 1/4 of California is rebuilt. Nevada is bad compared to today's maps and Arizona is not the best either compared ph 2 California.

So if SCS wants people to really see better quality mapping, the demo won't even do that. The demo is free so I'd go beyond what the demo does and open up everything. Limit by hrs in the game or flat out 3 days.

Free Weekends only make the game free-to-play, any paid content that is available for the game is not included in it and Valve wont make it so, i dont even know if the "free" DLCs are included, like all the trucks and Nevada and Arizona, but i think they should, because they are linked to the basegame

Aren't all trucks free dlc in ats? If so, you won't have anything to drive if they're not available.

there are 16 DLCs linked to the basegame, so they should be downloaded if the game gets a free weekend, all truck + Arizona and Nevada

If all the base base map was 2020 standards at the least, just the base map would look great but the demo provides all the base map anyways. So just base map free for the weekend is pointless imho. More needs to be revealed. ST, HH and accessories packs.

the demo is over after 5 or so deliveries/2000 miles iirc and is not up-to-date with the newest version of the game

I think that's unfortunately a Steam limitation, every free weekend games I played were always "base game and free DLCs only"

Understood. I'm just saying what it should be. If ATS is to grow using free weekends, it's out of SCS's hands it sounds like sobyeahhhhh it would indeed make it pointless if we get the base map as a demo and not so great quality. It's gonna take at least another 4 years to get all the base map rebuilt in full and still be limited in what's shown.

The best parts for ATS are paid dlc's.
