Renew speed limits on WoT contracts
Renew speed limits on WoT contracts
Well, I know it is a "golden rule", etc. BUT...
- On Vanilla ETS2, England maps have a 98KMPH limit on highways.
- In Road to the Black Sea DLC, we have a 100KMPH limit on highways in Romania.
- In West Balkans DLC, we have a 95KMPH limit in some highways.
What is the sense to maintain 90KMPH today? It is not time to review and change this?
Yes, I know about real time to complete, etc.

Re: Renew speed limits on WoT contracts
Not a problem. 3 countries out of 30 allowing higher speed limit than allowed by wotr? Not to mention, the wotr limit is still higher than most countries allow anyway.

The speed limit in Romania is wrong anyway, it's 90 km/h. They still didn't fix it.
I have approximate knowledge of many things

Re: Renew speed limits on WoT contracts
EU mandated speed limit is 90km/h for trucks, truck manufacturer have regulated their trucks to 90km/h, an even there you cant drive 90km/h other then downhill because your power input will be cut of if you reach 87km/h and there wont be any input allowed until you are under 83km/h, so no WoTr, for ETS2 at least, wont get any updates to speed limit because they are still in effect, and the UK wont get any unregulated trucks for sure

If you ever have took a driving license test, you'd know that maximum speed allowed for all trucks in Europe is 90kmh. Regardless of what speed signage is saying. Master rules are always above local rules.
Re: Renew speed limits on WoT contracts
In germany you are only allowed to drive 80km/h

Re: Renew speed limits on WoT contracts
in real. Not all trucks travel 90 km.
some 83km. others 85km
They don't do 90km. there is a limitation.

Re: Renew speed limits on WoT contracts
And where did you pull that from?
Re: Renew speed limits on WoT contracts
I said 90 is a absolute maximum for all semi-trailer trucks and larger rigs. Some smaller ones (tractor trucks) can go up to 100. Some areas can have lower speed limits which must be obeyed in that case, but if you have, for example a 100kmh speed limit on some road for all vehicles, you must still obey the general truck limit of 90, or 80, or whatever speed limit your truck is registered to. If you go above that, you're getting a ticket when police inspects your tachograph regardless if a speed limit on that specific section of the road was 100kmh. Tachograph is, actually, your control document as it shows when you exceed your categorized speed limit. My guess is some of you haven't even heard of tachograph in your life, with absolutely no idea what is its purpose. Hence your questions.

Re: Renew speed limits on WoT contracts
For the United Kingdom, there's a mismatch in the real law. The speed limit for large goods vehicles in 60 mph (something like 96-98 kph), but all large goods vehicles are required to have the EU 90 kph speed limiter (about 55-56 mph). I.e. only old trucks from before the EU speed limiter law, or ones that are otherwise exempt from EU law, can get up to the speed limit. Yes, the UK is no longer part of the EU, but the EU speed limiter law is still part of UK law.
It's been that way for a long time, and it's probably not likely that Parliament will reduce the speed limit to match the speed limiter law, as there's no benefit from making that change. Raising the speed limiter law would be problematic as it would make UK trucks illegal in the EU.
