Congregation of rain on the exterior of a vehicle sounda computationally nontrivia. Again it is trying to emulate nature.

Will come at the same time as dirt, presumably.

I drove here a little more at 1.49, I noticed another change, the water from under the wheels became invisible again, in general, everything that was beautiful at 1.48 was ruined, even the sunsets became different.

I do like the new nights, although I think the stars are way too bright, especially when you're driving through a city. It would be great that it could be dynamically adjusted depending how much environmental light there is. Normally, with the amount of light 'pollution' in and nearby cities, you won't be able to see the stars to such an extent.
System specs: Ryzen 5800X3D, RTX3080 (no OC), Varjo Aero (using OpenXR through OpenComposite instead of SteamVR), 32 GB DDR3200, Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2 TB, Win10. And most importantly: vanilla game, no mods.

My biggest gripe with the raindrops on the windscreen is that the raindrops never combine into bigger drops, and don't congregate into streams, but stay separate droplets. That's not how water behaves at all.

I don't think it will be possible to implement, though.

@AVP On your second screen it's raining less, if at all, so how can you make a comparison ?

rain falls the same way through the console command, we are talking about splashes from under the wheels and not about rain

on the screen version 1.48 the road is totally wet, while on the screen version 1.49 not even at all, so how do you compare ?

I finally got around to testing my 2 star truck to see how wear affects the vehicles.
  • Engine: Seems to lack horsepower. Lost all forward momentum and had to do a hill start (brake, first gear) on a highway entrance ramp.
  • Transmission Noisy, does not shift out of 10th gear. (This behavior is not new.)
  • Chassis: Update: Air pressure will drop after parking overnight with "hardcore" air mode enabled. (So one needs to wait 2 minutes before leaving after a rest.)
  • Cabin: Was missing front mirror. I was able to buy a replacement as an accessory. Vehicle still shuts off after engine/transmission replacement.
  • Tires: Did not notice anything specific. I believe traction just slowly gets worse and worse (but may be wrong).
Instead of replacing the engine and transmission: I upgraded them instead. So I changed more than one variable with the "after" horsepower. After engine and transmission replacement: the truck still turns off randomly. But no specific system (like the brand new engine) is blamed.

Edit: forgot to mention that the people at the weigh station did not care about part wear after transmission/engine replacement. (Was probably fixed when wear stopped being considered "damage".)

I also live on the Canadian prairies (driving both cars and bicycles in the winter): so I can automatically compensate for some pretty bad traction. Because "slick" tires have essentially no tread, but more traction on pavement: I suspect traction may be very weather dependent for worn tires. But I slow down and increase follow distance when it rains in-game. Edit: I slow down on dirt in-game too.

I took a new screenshot in Italy on black asphalt, now you can see puddles, it’s a matter of lighting, and they also ruined the visibility of the splashes from under the wheels
