@Supernovae Not sure why the Truckermudgeon map doesn’t show it, but Tonopah already had 2 gas stations in 1.49. I don’t think Tonopah changed, but the road between it and the California border did.

@Gormanbros I agree Tonopah doesn’t look bad, but its rework was already quite a while ago. It only has a single farm far outside of town economy wise. I think SCS can do better than that in 2024. Give us a reason to have Tonopah as a destination rather than a place to pass through. Currently it’s little more than a scenic town with its name on the map.

Fair enough. Given the roads immediately around Tonopah changed I think the entire town may have been shifted slightly but it makes sense the layout is still identical.

That's correct. And the map does show them, you just need to zoom in close enough (or disable the new "icon hiding" option in the menu).

Ah, fair enough lol

Haven't checked out those depots yet, just saw the name when I looked around the map for new companies

Thanks for the correction. Not sure how I missed that to be honest.

Couple minor complaints about asset placement, and I apologize that this will come across as cranky but the first one is an absurd situation that keeps popping up and I wish it wouldn't:

I would really like to see the flaming barrel asset banned from use except for under a bridge in a city during the winter. There's one at Five Points and it looks ridiculous. What about this building from real life made the mapper think "yeah let's put a flaming barrel there"? Idk if one of the mappers would rather be working on a Mad Max game or what but I'm not even sure why that asset even exists honestly, because I doubt they had plans to use it to portray urban homelessness. They added one to that abandoned railyard viewpoint in Kansas too where it made no sense as well. Maybe it's an in-joke between the developers, but either way it just kills immersion too much IMO.

Maybe some people use barrel fires to destroy sensitive documents instead of a shredder or a bonfire? Let's say it's that, the fire still wouldn't be left unattended (I hope anyways)

Second, there's a golf cart *with golf clubs on the back* in the Farmer's Barn lot in Huron. The nearest golf course is over 20 miles away. Even at 1:20 scale no one is driving their own private cart there. That one is an easy oversight to make, I think they have two golf cart models, one with clubs and without clubs, IIRC

Also the fact that the game takes place during the summer. No one is California is sitting in front of a burning barrel lol.
What good is a world without good detail?

I agree the flaming barrel is a bit of a weird asset to use. I would only ever associate it to homeless people or to post-apocalypse situations, and considering the weather is too warm for homeless people to use it, it has to be the second that applies :D

Really though, it’s used in locations that don’t particularly look rundown or like homeless people would live there.
