I honestly think they can work a lot into the new layout. The great thing about the new UI is that it doesn't clutter up the screen and take up space. If lots of new features are planned, that could also mean lots of new buttons/modes coming and that clutters things up on screen. Now its clean. Now things are in categories and in rollouts which opens up a lot more space per category. Each category could open up and have 100 buttons if they wanted. Try doing that with the old UI. 100 button options makes no sense. They can add 1000 button options now if they want since they are all tucked away in their own category.

I agree with bringing back an exit for those that want it though but I too will never use it. When in the menu, my left hand is usually already on the left side of the keyboard anyways and like most people, by memory you automatically know where the ESC is without thinking twice. But if this layout is console related, then there is no ESC button for a game controller and an Exit button is necessary anyways.

So add exit and bring back the color from the old icon and we got a winner. The new UI is good enough change but doesn't mean the icons themselves had to necessarily change. At leave keep familiarity that people where use to in button appearance.

Circle on playstation, B on xbox. Most commonly used button for going back to previous screen. In fact, for typical menu presented in the game only three buttons are needed (plus the stick/d-pad). Also console games don't have an "exit game" option.

Yeah you have a good point. Forgot about Circle. I don't use Xbox so I have no idea what Xbox uses.

Wait? What! There was a hover-over popup in the old GUI? Ha! Talk about undiscoverable UX items. Well at least I'm not going to miss it, I never knew it was there.

I'd like to be able to go straight to the specific options page I want rather than having to go through the graphics page every time. I'd also like the X back since I don't normally use my keyboard when I'm in the game. Overall though I quite like it though I'm not a fan of flat UIs generally.

One easy way for them to add trailer information would be to use these symbols that they've been using for a while and add it somewhere in the empty space along the top bar. Then you could hover over the symbol and it could provide you with whatever further information they previously provided.

These have only been used in the trailer manager and the map, so I'm still not used to what they are at a glance, but given enough time of it being more prominent I will get used to it like any other aspect of the UI.

Quote removed - Don't quote images - Rule 2.3

I personally really liked that it showed the distance driven, but I can't seem to find it anymore... has it been removed?
