Anime themed SCS Accessories

Unironically, commission someone to make an anime themed SCS Mascot, make a truck cabin accessories and skin pack for that mascot. Roll in profit.

This game appeals to many young people that want to explore the world from the comforts of their hug pillow's embrace. Young people LOVE anime. And if you can't give them a Japanese Trucking Simulator, this is the next best thing.

Tons of Vtubers play this game. Everything Japanese tends to sell like hot cakes among young people. The meme value would make headlines alone and sell tons of copies of the game.

I know the crowd in forums will tend to veer older and this sounds like a silly idea. But it's something I actually want and would use, and I know tons of other people would too.

Bruh I'm glad I'm not the only one that would like to see this. Even at times post something like they should like collab with a TV anime show OR a game like Genshin impact .3.

While I think that there are some on the SCS team that know about anime, I'm not sure about licensed deals. I'd leave out gacha's though because of the whole thing surrounding gambling mechanics (even though these companies don't want to call it that, but it really is gambling) despite the fact I do play one, Azur Lane.

Now, if we go for something a bit more mainstream, there are merits to properties like Dragonball Z (I bet a fair amount of people grew up with this show back in the mid/late 90's), or something like Fairy Tale or Bleach could be choices for some accessories and paint jobs.

I personally just make my own skins that are anime-themed, even if they are basic.

Lol... I highly recommend people don't start looking into this kind of thing. There are some plush pillows though that could work for the bed. Those are generally pretty cute, from animals to certain anime characters or something. Some are food items, the most common typically being anpan (melon bread), manjuu (a type of Japanese confectionery that's sweet and comes in many different flavors), mochi (basically a pounded rice cake with a soft and squishy outside and some type of filling), or even dango (somewhat similar to mochi, but the process is slightly different). And that's just scratching the surface really.

As far as the market goes for anime goods... it depends on the market. It works in Japan because society there was built around it, which is why sometimes the success of an anime does depend a bit on how successful merchandise sales go. However, on the flip side, while the US is another very large market, merch sales are a bit different here. I believe the majority of people grow out of the whole merchandising bit or never got into it as it's not that strong of a market for it here. While it does exist in some capacity, such as Pokemon, or the aforementioned Dragonball series, they're all mainstream. You will typically not find the more obscure stuff in stores, unless you go to specialty stores which are few and far between. Even where I live, there's only a small handful of these kind of things in the entirety of Dallas-Ft. Worth, with only 1 store now where I live. Even then, floor space is small there, so they don't have much for stock outside of mainstream stuff. Big name stores like Walmart, Best Buy, etc... are dwindling their anime DVD and Blu-ray's that they now only fill up maybe 1 full shelf worth and that's it. One could say Crunchy......*blech*roll basically is starting to kill even physical sales. Who knows, maybe that's true. Most anime bought these days are probably from Amazon or Right Stuf Anime.

Alright... all that aside, it's not like I'm against the idea, and anime has been becoming more mainstream in recent years. If I'm being honest though, anime should have stayed a bit on the more obscure side like it was back in the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's. While it seems like more people knowing about it might seem like a good thing, but at the same time, it can also potentially hurt the source material that these are based on, but that's for another topic.

This is where I am talking about just making their own Anime style mascot, instead of trying to license and actual anime, which would be pretty difficult and probably have limited appeal.

Also I don't actually mean we need a hug pillow to put in the truck (although that would be hilarious), just any kind of Anime themed mascots for SCS and ornaments and stuff would be appreciated.

I refuse to watch any anime from the 80s, 90s, or even early 2000s, so I am probably your anti-anime fan lmao, but the art style doesn't really make a difference to me, if they used an 80s to 2000s art style it wouldn't bother me.

I refuse to watch any anime from the 80s, 90s, or even early 2000s, so I am probably your anti-anime fan lmao, but the art style doesn't really make a difference to me, if they used an 80s to 2000s art style it wouldn't bother me.

I mean, you're welcome to watch whatever you want lol. Some of the best anime are from the 80's. (Ranma 1/2 for example is one, all-time classic from Takahashi Rumiko) The 90's also brought in some good anime and so did the 2000's. (Full Metal Panic) But that's besides the point lol. Main thing was I just wished anime stayed about as relevant as was back during those times compared to how it is now.

I mean.. when Carthoo was general manager at SCS for a while, I believe he was aware of anime, but not much more beyond that. Kraake I'm not sure, I never went into detail with him about it when we talked. Simon I'm not actually sure; like him, I'm also generally pretty quiet and to myself, so we didn't talk too much. (this was when those 3 were here in Dallas for the truck show in 2019) That being said, I'm sure there's a few that don't know, but what do I know. XD


Now then, to the matter at hand. There's nothing wrong with Japanese media from getting into a lot of places. Chances are, if this comes to the truck games in some fashion, I'm sure they'd just be paint jobs and small accessories that are optional. Don't like it, don't buy it. Plain and simple. If one were to buy it just to support the devs, then simply just don't install the DLC..... oh wait, SCS changed a bit on how DLC worked in this game outside of map DLC's. Well either way, it's easy to simply not use anything one doesn't like. Like the billion paint job DLC's for ETS2. I buy them to support SCS, but I have 90% of them unchecked in Steam because I have 0 intention of ever using them in the first place.

I will always welcome variety, and just use whatever I feel like using. If I don't like something, I just simply ignore it and move on. Apparently that's a concept that's been lost to time now.

^To be fair Demon slayer and MHA are pretty good anime series. (Didn't watched them but from what I've seen its good)
