Yes yes, very sad. Can’t wait for the next DLC though.
Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Isn't the problem with numbers you can se it from both sides, if you look at ETS2 general sales numbers vs players it is a failure but for SCS economical it is not. 13million bought ETS2 155k subbed this forum that is 1.2% of the people that bought the game so 98.8% haven subbed, everyday average players on steam is max 36k that a bit under 0.3% of the people that bought the game, if on average 99.7 % of buyers don't play the game on average, well to me that SOUNDS like a failure. But it is not, SCS makes money and keep hiring and expanding.
Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Remember that max concurrent players (what steam shows) is not the same as the number of unique players per day (that number is somewhat higher, maybe by a factor of 4 or 5).
And it's not the same players every day, so the number of unique players per week is higher still.
So you numbers on people not playing are no where near accurate,

Also, I'm probably not the only one playing offline and not even having a WoTr account.
Still, I buy game, DLCs, play almost everyday, vacation excluded.
I'm active here, follow SCS in Instagram, BlueSky, read the blogs, but never comment except here.
If you read Steam, I'm not playing the game. Wait, it's updating now... Here: ETS 46 minutes, ATS 93 min.
Not bad for 100% explored and millions in cash with income at 10-30%. I"m the fastest player ever.

If my Steam account is on-line, you can bet I'm not playing. Either updating games or buying DLC.
Why I have a few minutes, beats me. Probably a quick check after update.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
Any attempt to judge a game by the ratio of copies sold to players playing on Steam is a stretch. I have about 300 different games on my Steam account, of which I have played no more than twenty over the years. But this does not mean that the other games on the list are bad. I just didn't have the time/desire/mood, or any other reason to play the rest of the games.
Many people buy games on sales because of big discounts, and then it sits untouched. Is that a sign of failure? Of course not, just as it is not a sign of success.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread
As far as single player games go, who and when is playing barely matters, it's how many copies were sold.
However, the fact that dozens of thousands play it daily since the release 13 years ago AND the dlcs sell in large numbers after all that time AND the online events, despite having seemingly crazy goals like 2 000 000 tons of cargo or whatever, are completed in few weeks, just proves the enormous success of the franchise.
Many highly popular titles are nowhere near those numbers after so many years, but it just shows how different SCS games are - they grow in numbers over time, unlike many others.

IMHO, in the age of competitive multiplayer ranked weekly challenges lootboxes (you can insert here whatever easy money tricks gamedevs are pulling nowadays) games, the fact that ETS2 is still alive is the best achievement in itself. Honestly, I have no idea how this game(s) managed to get that famous in the first place. Not that I complain about it...
