Those square wheel shadows (your first picture) appear when you try using a very outdated model (I experienced that myself). In other words - it is not connected to the UI shadow model. You can also get a proof if you remove UI shadow at all (for example if you put an empty fully transparent texture).

There are 2 shadow options. One for UI and one when you drive
First one looks correct.
For the outside you need to create extended shadows.
