EV trucks too spicy on PS5 Dualsense controller

#1 Post by ivy parrot » 24 Apr 2025 03:26

Hi All
I was asked to post this here...
I have been trying out the various EV trucks in QJ, and well the trucks are spicy, too spicy at low speeds, by that I mean, they are just taking way too little time to go from 0km/h to 20/30km/h...

The problem is that with the diesels, they take a lot of seconds to get from 0 to 30km/h, even with the throttle on the PS5 mashed down, you wait and wait and the speed just slower increases, and this is perfect, love it.. But in the time the diesels go from 0km/h to 10km/h the EV is already at 80km/h...

There is no ability in Dual~SenseM on the Mac to have the detail curve required to have almost impossible heavy throttle at the 1st "stage" of the pressing on the throttle trigger to allow very slow long acceleration of the EV truck, so that you are not fighting it at 20km/h milliseconds after thinking about the pressing of the trigger.

I know EV has a torque curve enough to restart the rotation of a small planet from a 9v battery, but wow in EV trucks in ETS2, there needs to be a bit of moderation.

The big issue is that of how to design a way for the user/player/driver on controllers such as PS5 Dualsense to have the granular linear inverted acceleration curve? At the moment DualSense M does not allow saving of profiles, and there is no per truck driver approved profile setting, it is global across all trucks, QJ or not.

I love the idea of driving EV trucks, they sound different, but the actual driving, it is borderline impossible, sometimes you just press just that tiny bit too hard, and crash..

I am reporting my experience, and offering a suggestion..

As I said in the discussion thread, you might have set or bound your trigger as a button rather than an analog input. Try checking that first. How exactly do you bind your inputs? Do you use Steam Input or any other middleware?

Well, I don't actually think that is the issue, and well it is damn near impossible to know if my setting are correct or faulty, cause how do I know if they are faulty? No one to ask..

No, it's actually not hard to know if your settings are correct, most of the times. I can help you with that. But I need your cooperation for that. I'll repeat the questions: How exactly do you bind your inputs? Do you use Steam Input or any other middleware?

Hi San
Look I have no idea, it is confusing, I am not sure what is and is not correct, for example why is my Mac saying I have 2 controllers, the PS5 dualsense, and Xbox GamePad1.. I have no idea what a gamepad is, and why it is showing up in the Game Controller of my Mac OS..

That does not answer my questions. What exactly is confusing to you? How did you do the process of setting up the game to use your controller? What were your steps?
