Tell a full kindergarten to do 20 different tasks in parallel or open a can of worms
This is what you are up against, basically you need to nake damn sure every task runs smoothly without interfering with other tasks
Easy to describe, but ...

I've been testing the beta since day 1 and I'm still doing so, and I (in my case!) feel quite a difference in how it loads, how stable the FPS is, and the lack of stuttering, but hey, everyone will have their own situations, in my case it's positive, and for now I'm sticking with the beta rather than my main profile.

How are you sound settings?
Motor, exhaust, turbo, internal, external etc
I have tried to mess around with a little but no luck so far

I tried the beta on my old laptop with 6th gen i5, HD 520 iGPU and SATA SSD. And I see nothing, zero difference in the performance between 1.54 and 1.55. The FPS is around the same, with same dips, same jumps, the in-built frametime graphs look almost identical in both versions. The time to load the profile and the save files might be slighly better on 1.55, I haven't used the stopwatch. Might be placebo due to a spinning thingy or just because "newer=better".

What I did not expect is Krone eTrailer launching itself and the truck forward like a slingshot at the moment of kingpin connecting with the fifth wheel with advanced trailer coupling on. But that I'm going to test on the proper PC first.

I did not save any logs from 1.54 and only have newest log from 1.55, so can't compare still.

Glad that the headlights are working again since the patch. Can't say I have noticed any general performance improvements.

This last update must have some efficiency stuff done in the background, I always use ingame overlay showing Watts and stuff, My GFX watt usage has been stable for a long time GFX using in range 180-250w at my current game settings and Fps, after last update it is now 100-180w same game settings and fps. Just wow. What ever they did, I hope it is over the experimental stage and ready to be in the official 1.55. Brilliant job SCS.

That would be interesting to compare. Would some of you be willing to measure power consumption in 1.54 and 1.55 to verify this by doing a rollback and later re-update? Please share!
