Re: [2.17] Scania Drivetrain Revision
Will you update since Eugene upgraded his Scania Mod?

Re: [2.17] Scania Drivetrain Revision
Why would it need an update? Eugene did not change anything that would make this mod incompatible no matter which way around you load them.
If you load this mod first and Eugene's after, then Eugene's PGRS overwrites all of the PGRS engine and gearbox files with ones that are restricted to certain chassis types, but contains all the same performance figures. This may not be what a lot of people want because it will screw up a bunch of other mods, like Kasts. Eugene has promised to fix that issue though.
If you load Eugene's mod first and this one after, then this mod overwrites all the engine and gearbox stuff in the PGRS mod with with ones that have no chassis restrictions, but contain all the same performance figures. This solves the compatibility with other mods, at the expense of not being as realistic as Eugene wants.
This mod can not be updated to add the chassis/engine restrictions, because it is intended to work with the SCS Scania R and S, which do not have separate I6 and V8 chassis, and would force anyone who tried to use this mod with the SCS Scania to be restricted to only I6 engines on all chassis except the 8x4.

Re: [2.17] Scania Drivetrain Revision
OK, a quick update to the Eugene situation since I've been looking into this for a few days.
Right now, there is a slight mismatch between the lineups in Eugene's PGRS mod and this one, which is causing issues.
To wit, in this mod, there are no Euro 5 engines for the Scania PGRS, and thus the gearboxes have no appropriate suitable_for statements, so if this mod has priority (loads on top), and you try to select a Euro 5 engine from Eugene's Scania PGRS mod, the game will crash.
(There are also some issues with Eugene having split off the exhaust box into an accessory that loads like an engine badge, but that's not crash-causing and not in need of immediate remedy).
The fix on this side of things would be to add suitable_for statements for Eugene's Euro5 engines to the appropriate gearboxes, which will stop the crashing.
On Eugene's side, the issue is that since his mod does not contain the Super engines, the relevant gearbox for the top end Super engines (the G33 boxes) do not have suitable_for statements for the 500 and 560 hp Super engines, so if Eugene's mod has priority, the game can't find a gearbox for the Super 500 and 560 and the game crashes. The immediate fix on that side would be to add suitable_for statements to the G33 gearboxes included in Eugene's mod for that. So far, so simple?
Because I'm impatient, I'm going to be making my own compatibility patch to resolve the issue. I won't distribute it unless @galimim says okay, though. The plan is to basically add Eugene-compatible engine definitions for the all the super engines, and overwrite his G33 gearbox defs with the ones from this mod, and do whatever other minor tweaking is needed. All the engine badges and icons would still be in Galimim's mod and the patch won't work without it, though.

I am ok with you releasing the patch, until Eugene adds the Super series.

Re: [2.17] Scania Drivetrain Revision
This is going to be super bare bones, I haven't made a mod thumbnail for it.
Galimim's drivetrain rework for PGRS mod compatibility patch 2.17.2
Mod order: (EDITED due to the bug report below)
Drivetrain rework compatibility patch (this mod) on top
(optional) XT Addons pack
(optional) Sogard3's Low Decks for PGRS
(optional) Hardy's Scania NG Heavy Haul mod
(required) Eugene's PGRS mod
(optional) Kast's Rigid Chassis PGRS addon
(required) Galimim's Scania Drivetrain Revision
I have not tested Sebastian's Swapbody mod with this but it shouldn't cause any *crashing*, as the chassis are whitelisted for all engines.
(XT Addons need to go above Sogard3's Lowdecks so that the bumpers will work with the low deck front fenders; Kast's mod has to go before basically everything because its cabin definition does not have the Low Deck chassis or the new XL 6x4s whitelisted and Sogard3's mod does not contain full cabin definitions; and the base Drivetrain Revision needs to go before Eugene's mod because otherwise it overwrites all the I6 engines and the gearboxes needed for the Euro 5 stuff.)
What this does:
1 - separates out the whitelists from all of Eugene's engines into two include files - one for I6 engines, one for V8s. No engine-specific lists are kept, they're all in the master include files. All "engine-agnostic" chassis (Kast's, Sebastian's, Hardy's), are included in both include files.
2 - adds the Super engines from Galimim's drivetrain rework, modified with the addition of the exhaust boxes that Eugene separated out in the latest release of the PGRS mod. They will fit any chassis that will fit an I6 engine. This is not 100% accurate, as the real life Super Engines apparently have a different fuel tank and fuel pump cluster, but it will do for now. (Eugene just explained that this is the holdup for him adding the Super engines - he needs to make those fuel tanks and his blender is not blending).
3 - adds the G33CM gearboxes (all versions) from the base drivetrain revision, which restores compatibility with the Super engines.
4 - adds the Super engines to the whitelist for the I6 exhaust box on the Scania R and S, because otherwise the game crashes.
What this does not do:
1 - include any badges or UI graphics whatsoever. You need Galimim's mod for those.
2 - fix the one engine that always crashes my game, IJ's version of the 770hp engine. I forgot to add that gearbox to the compatibility fixes.
If, in the near future, Galimim manages to get his hands on enough info to make the Super 11 engines, those will need to be added to this mod as well but that should be relatively simple.
I am personally OK with this being distributed and modified so long as the purpose is increased compatibility. If more chassis are found that need to be included in the compatibility lists, just pass them along to me in the proper format and I will add them.

Re: [2.17] Scania Drivetrain Revision
When using the compatibility patch and said load order my game crashes, even when using a clean profile, if I choose the V8 chassis, the 3.6m wheelbase or the 6x2 chassis. Here is the log

Aaargh. Sogard didn't actually include cabin definition files this time, which means that with the suggested load order, Kast is providing the cabin definitions, which don't include any of the new stuff.
Try dropping Kast's PGRS addon below Eugene's PGRS mod. I may have to add some cabin definitions to my drivetrain fix otherwise, and I really was hoping not to need to.

@galimim
I saw your comment about adding the 4 series to the mod being impossible, due to the lack of data. Ive decided to do some research, and I found an archived version of the scania website, where you can see all the parameters of the engines the 4 series used, as of the year 2004. Would you be interested in this data? There is less data on transmissions, but I still think you could make something out of it.
Edit:
If its not possible for you to do it (whatever the reason), I could try making the addon myself, provided its okay with you, of course. Id be really happy to recieve any pointers from you, especially the engine editor app you mention!
Best regards,
Brozi
