References for Louisiana Fire Department Vehicles:
Baton Rouge's new fire liveries are almost the same as Shreveport's, just that the yellow lines surrounding the black lines are dotted instead of solid on Baton Rouge's vehicles. And of course, different city names and logos.

The Port Of New Orleans contains many facilities expanding all the way from the Audubon up the Mississippi to Woldenberg Park, but the one I'll specifically be referencing is the Napoleon Avenue Terminal located here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/New+O ... FQAw%3D%3D
This is Louisiana's only international container port and a vital gateway for inland logistics connected by 14,500 miles of inland waterway, interstate freeways and six class 1 railroads. The entire Port Of NOLA is the 5th Largest Port in the United States, totaling at 80+ million tonnage in cargo volume per year. In terms of the game, this would be the 3rd most important port in the game after Houston and Corpus Christi. (Long Beach being the 4th)
If there would be enough space, I know ports take a massive amount of space in this game, so if there is enough. The Nashville Avenue Breakbulk Terminal directly adjacent to the Napoleon Avenue Terminal would be a great inclusion to be combined into the Port as well. It would bring some diversity into the cargo delivered at the Port of NOLA, which is located here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Nashv ... FQAw%3D%3D
Nashville Avenue takes in Heavy Lift Ships that carry your average Special Transport and Heavy Cargo DLC items. Wind Turbines, Generators, etc. As well as Breakbulk Cargo like steel, rubber, wood, paper, and other metals.
The Henry Way Truckway serves as the specialized road for incoming and outcoming trucks. It would make the most sense to be the route to and from the port, it could be simplified for space to almost directly come off of US-90 BUS. Connecting to Tchoupitoulas Street and omitting Religious Street entirely.
Here's the route: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/29.9389 ... FQAw%3D%3D

Re: Louisiana pre-research tips
Another huge industry in Louisiana is Sugar Cane. Louisiana is the largest sugar cane producer in the country, producing more than 2 million tons of raw sugar per year. With more than 14 million tons of sugar cane on over 440,000 acres in 24 parishes. Creating an economic impact of $2.6 billion.
There are 11 Sugar Mills in Louisiana, and 2 Sugar Refineries turning raw sugar into food products. I think a good candidate for a Raw Sugar Mill depot would be in Raceland as it wouldn't be too out of the way: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Racel ... FQAw%3D%3D
And for a Sugar Refinery, there ain't too many options to choose from. LSR is the biggest and the only one I can find information 'bout. I doubt it would be able to fit in with what's already been built round Reserve, but here's the location anyway: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Louis ... FQAw%3D%3D
With this industry, there would have to be a new trailer added to carry sugar cane.

Sabal Palmetto and Sabal Minor are very common tooTitleMax wrote: ↑20 Nov 2024 18:29 A few more specific trees/plants you may see round Louisiana are:
Banana Trees which are usually used as flora instead of for growing bananas, these are very common.
European Fan Palms which I have only seen in a select few places.
And Christmas Palms, which can be mistaken for Royal Palms as they look very similar but are two different species.

Tombs in Southern Louisiana Cemetaries are above ground as when it floods if bodies were buried, their coffins would pop up out the ground and float down the street

Re: Louisiana pre-research tips
I noticed something real off in one of the screenshots of Houma. Two of the buildings are way too far from the street. You see the structural poles under the balcony are supposed to be near the curb with the balcony being over the sidewalk. Realistically the dark grey pavement in the game would be completley covered up by the building, leaving only the light grey sidewalk visible.
I don't know if it's easily fixable, I know the map making tools probably ain't like Cities Skylines just grabbing the building with the cursor and moving it closer perfectly with no extra steps. But I just wanted to bring it to y'all's attention anyway. Otherwise it looks absolutely beautiful!
