I don't mind coaches. But I still have mixed feelings about PRT, since we are getting cars before the classic trucks, that may not even be in the pipeline.

I have very high hopes for coaches in ETS2, and up to the bus announcement I had not played with any bus sim. With the assets and map from ETS2 it should be good.

We're getting coaches before classic trucks (which I don't really care about) as well.ScaniaMANIveco wrote: 09 Jul 2025 18:36 I don't mind coaches. But I still have mixed feelings about PRT, since we are getting cars before the classic trucks, that may not even be in the pipeline.

I find PRT idea better than coaches. I don't like idea of coaches at all. And I think, I may like driving regular car.

Talking what we like and what not i think Coaches are better in that kind of games than cars but lets be honest, who im i to tell what fits more in US? Im just an European and i never even leaved my coutry so what i can tell about cars fitting in ATS, im just happy that SCS is finaly moving forward gameplay wise and im good with any idea of new gameplay features they offer to us and hope both coaches and cars will migrate to brother game representivly coaches to ats and cars to ets

Re: SCS General Nonsense Thread
I'm not very interested in Project Road Trip and the fact that they went for it before doing classic trucks does leave a bad taste in my mouth, but stepping back and looking at it objectively I do think cars make more sense for ATS than coaches would. Intercity buses are just not as big of a deal here compared to Europe, whereas the romantic ideal of the Great American Road Trip is a very powerful pull.
RVs would have also made more sense than coaches in ATS, I think.
I'm really excited for coaches in ETS2, and I'm excited for people who are excited for cars in ATS. If they can add stuff like using pickup trucks to haul smaller trailers (e.g. horse trailers, fishing boats, snowmobiles, etc) to PRT then that would instantly change my tune. If I want to drive a car like normal in the US, then I can just walk downstairs to my garage and get in my Camry

I don't see it being discussed, but the current skill system is really outdated and lackluster. Especially Eco-driving, as it seem to be not even having any effect if Realistic Fuel Consumption setting is activated. And Road Trip and Buses would be a perfect opportunity to make improvements there, I believe.

To be honest i cant wait to be able to drive small cargo vans/light trucks in ETS2, especialy some wild ones like Man TGE 3500plus that i have learned about today.
(TGE 3500plus is kind of semi truck in which you have truck itself, our TGE which can take up to 3500kg but dont have any loading space, only fifth wheel, and then there is "trailer" which can take up to 3500kg and is connected to fifth wheels however it is stiff connected so it doesnt move while driving, such truck can take up to 7 tons and have 3 axle.)

Re: SCS General Nonsense Thread
The rate of new state DLC is already the fastest it's ever been, though... and even if they did European maps faster, it'd just speed up the rate at which they run out of Europe and motivate equally self-important people as yourself to make nearly identical complaints about how they're spitting on their fanbase and whatever by releasing non-European countries in Euro Truck. Hell, you can already see a bit of that on the ATS end with Canada, and Canada isn't even excluded by the name in the first place!b_l_e_1 wrote: 09 Jul 2025 17:48 Both ATS and ETS2 were great games, even without reworking the old DLC. Now that these side projects are taking fruition, the SCS devs are losing sight of what made both ATS and ETS2 great...and the result will be that both those games will suffer.
And make no mistake, these games WILL suffer, regardless of what the top brass at SCS tell you...
They could be putting out more state or country DLC if everyone was on board with creating new states or countries and not wasting time on the Coaches and Road Trip stuff.
The time and money wasted on these Coach and Road Trip projects is a disgrace to those of us who spend so much money on the base ATS/ETS2 games. If one wants either the Coaches and/or Road Trip games, they will be pay-to-play games. There's no way that these side projects will be free. They will cost money. That time and money being spent now on these side projects should be used on creating new countries and states for ATS/ETS2.
The way it sits now, the money I spend on ATS and ETS2 DLC is being used for financing these Coaches and Road Trip projects these guys are working on, instead of what they SHOULD be working on, and that is newer ATS/ETS2 content. I don't like seeing my money go towards something that will hurt ATS and ETS2.
There's already plenty of bus simulators out there. Why the need to get into coaches and road trips now?
To me these Coaches and Road Trip deals seem like nothing more than SCS doing a money grab creating something that has already been invented by other companies.
Stick with creating the new countries and new states SCS. Dance with the one who brought you here. Stop wasting our money trying to dance with these new gimmicks.
Even putting that aside, there was a good while where every release of map DLC was punctuated by people complaining about not having enough new features to actually use those maps for - that the maps were all just the same thing with different scenery. So they made more features that would utilize the map in different ways, as those players requested.
I don't even really understand what you're getting at with the paragraph of these projects not being free. I mean, yeah? The map DLCs aren't free either. Nor are the paint job packs or trailer packs or anything else. Everything costs money in this world, especially nowadays with all of the economic uncertainty. If you hate the modes being allowed to exist without your consent, you have the option to not buy them. If people agree with you, they'll get the memo and SCS gets to suffer the consequences of their choice. If people disagree with you and buy it anyway, well, clearly you didn't end up speaking for everyone as much as you thought you did.
If anything, the more concrete effects of this would be the vehicle teams rather than the mapping teams, but even with that there's really no way for us to know what's going on with those right now. Maybe those are mostly being held up by license owners, for all we know.
