I do see a Road Trip blog coming soon; Probably similar to the recent Coaches one, introducing the team.

Continuing the discussion from the Base Map Rework thread
LATrucker wrote: 17 Jul 2025 19:53 Mark came back from his weeks long trip recently, so I am pretty confident we'll get some news soon. Even if it's "only" related to sounds of the cars f.e.
I completely forgot about his team doing work stateside over this summer. Yeah, looking forward to hearing more about that.

And speaking of such, since nobody mentioned this so far, I was recently rewatching the Iowa Release stream and he had some things to say about it.

"About half of the work we were doing was Road Trip oriented I would say- -yeah we got some sounds, we were getting some 3D data that we still needed to, you know, like final touches, like textures and materials and stuff like that so you know we're coming along nicely." -Mark, On the Iowa Release Stream (I apologize if I mistook anything said in advance, correct me if I took anything out of context)

I remember him saying that. Makes me very curious about the other 50%. I know the Pioneer was part of that too. I was driving this morning and I was passed by the new RV model in ATS and I was thinking.........man these look sooo much better than the previous one. I'm hoping SCS has also visited Winnebago too. We can't have PRT without RVs now. We got national parks and no RV's?

RV's should definitely come to PRT eventually. It fit the road trip scenario to a tee.

My biggest question is, will SCS release all the brands (Toyota, Dodge, Ford, Nissan) similar to Coaches at once or will it be like traditional truck releases where one brand gets the go ahead before the other?

My guess is they'll finish the entire starter set of cars and release them at once, so people'll be able to choose which brand pack they want to purchase.

Because if, say, the Nissan pack got finished first and immediately released, everyone wanting to try out cars would buy that pack right away, which would give Nissan an unfair popularity advantage compared to the other brands if their packs were to only be released later on (possibly months apart). However, if the planned brand DLC packs were all finished and then released at once, there would probably be a fairly evenly-distributed amount of sales for each pack, which would be a lot fairer to the brands.

That's my thinking, at any rate.

^Yeah I have to agree. If SCS is partnering up, they don't want to give someone the edge. That could jeopardize the relationships. I do hope that the classic cars coming will spark Pavel to finally go after classic trucks though. Imho, I think its flat out wrong to have classic cars and not a classic semi and this is a truck game. So if Pavel is going to blow the doors off ATS.........please blow them off and cover classic trucks as well. I have very little interest in PRT but I strongly support it and think its a great move.

Ohh yes, for sure – RVs and station wagons would be grand.

And in case SCS also plan on implementing taxi jobs and/or random hitchhikers too, we'd even
sort of get an early taste of coach gameplay in ATS, being able to transport passengers and all.

Yeah definitely, could not agree more. As long as truck manufacturers agree to it, I also think
the best time for classic trucks to come would likely be post-PRT, once we have classic cars.

To be honest I personally also muchly prefer trucks and buses/coaches, but given the fact that older cars are
also to be included, I am at the very least intrigued to give it a try, see what driving them'll feel like. I'm open to it.

I think they talked about RV's in the video blog. Initially PRT was RV, if I remember correctly and then they pivoted. But I think they mentioned that they will come back to RV as well. If it's pupilar they will expand the roster of vehicles in multiple categories I'm sure.

One thing I'd like to see and Pavel mentioned it long ago in one of the release streams of some map, when he was talking about populating the huge world, is recovery trucks. I remember Nemiro being like "that would be awesome". And I agree. I'd love to see some licensed wrecker trucks form SCS, like snowrunner has in the game now.

^Recovery trucks............Hmmmm. I wonder it that is why they made a wrecker, had it in traffic in one beta update and then yanked it and said it was a mistake. We never seen it again. We have the T800 utility truck look alike with the boom arm. But they removed the T800 wrecker. I wonder if that is coincidence with what you are saying about wreckers.

That'd definitely be interesting if they returned to wreckers; I wasn't aware they were ever talked about by SCS before.

About the Kenworth T800 wrecker – since it was an unlicensed Kenworth product, maybe Kenworth had something against them using the likeness of one of their trucks as an unbadged AI vehicle, and that's why they opted to remove it from the game? Just theorising here.
