Re: Peterbilt Trucks Discussion Thread
579 NG probably will be the next Peterbilt. Other than that, nothing new so far.

Looking forward to the 579. Cannot stand with the (old) 579’s terrible quality at the moment. All other brands have a well-modeled aerodynamic offering.

I agree. looking at the christmas stream it appears that the new 579 will have a substantial amount of customisation options.harishw8r wrote: 20 Jul 2025 06:15 Looking forward to the 579. @gptsj It was shown without side skirts in the Christmas stream.
If the old 579 even gets reworked I just hope it will have a glider kit version.

Re: Peterbilt Trucks Discussion Thread
When working with Peterbilt or Kenworth, do SCS have any interaction with Paccar? Is Paccar involved in any way in the decisions process? Or they let Pete and Ken alone?
I'm wondering if we might get some Peterbilt stuff around the corner, since we got the missing customization of the T680NG.
I'm just bothered so much by the lack of ongoing news about trucks. We get so much news about map extensions, and nothing about trucks... I understand the licensing chains doesn't allow SCS to say much, but at least they could maybe talk about advancement? 'how' it is going? some pics like during the Christmas stream idk... Why would anything about trucks should be top secret anyway? The models are currently available IRL, there's nothing to hide. I don't care about release date if they share more news... Exactly like the map extensions. Having news regularly keeps interest live, while ignorance kills it. Just my opinion tho.

Re: Peterbilt Trucks Discussion Thread
Only SCS can answer that question, but based on the little stuff we know, i think it is safe to assume they deal with each brand as it's own thing and has very little to do with the parent company.
As for "more news about trucks", we have already talked about that a million times, more news just create more impatience within the community, the only important thing is that we know they are working on more trucks, that's all that matters to me, let them come when they are ready like it has always been around here.

I think just the fact that they added tuning to the T680NG may be an indirect sign that something is being done on the Peterbilt as well. Hopefully they just can't officially announce it yet, but the process is underway.jdwarfer wrote: 22 Jul 2025 09:01 When working with Peterbilt or Kenworth, do SCS have any interaction with Paccar?
