I remember last year when there weren't any new trucks until September for both games (not counting the EVs for ETS2 since those are vehicles that were already in-game beforehand).

I doubt it has much to do with Coaches and PRT; and more to do with licensing, delays and what have you. From what was said in interviews and streams, that was the story last year, it's most likely the story again this year.

The developers directly said that buses and Road Trip are handled by a separate team that is independent of Vechicle team Jarda or whatever their name is, I don’t remember.

Anyone who watched Andi's stream last week showing how he created the Dodge Charger will understand why it takes so long for trucks. It's a very artisanal process. Even with more than one person involved in the project, it still takes time to model a vehicle, customization parts, adapt paint jobs, and test.

Modeling? Don't car manufacturers send them ready-made models? I think that's exactly what happened with Volvo: the work was done using CAD software shared by the manufacturer.

Yeah but you can't use cad models directly. You need to remodeled again for game. Cad models so much detailed and we don't need some details in game and need reduced poligons.

@Alexander121996 A CAD file is not a game ready model. SCS still need to build the model using the CAD files as a reference. Using CAD files it's still approximately a person year to build a truck.

I thought project cars and busses don't affect regular work?

Isn't it enough to simply cut down the number of polygons using Blender's capabilities, while simultaneously correcting the places where the cutting led to a jamb on the polygonal mesh?
