I completely agree. We only have a trailer, and many say that the map will be very small. We have to wait for reviews, betas, etc., but what many of us hope is that RK will be decent competition so that SCS pays more attention to the game. It's not possible that in a few months the game will be a decade old and we still don't have mixed loads or varied weather, or a better example, nine months without a single new truck and no news of anything. With direct competition, SCS will no longer be able to continue doing these atrocities, That's why we have to support Road Kings.

I’m sorry, but “atrocities”? Because they didn’t add free content for a 9 year old game within 9 months of this year?
(Even though the Kenworth T680 was completed)

Yes, Road Kings will do things differently than ATS, and I agree it will be good for SCS to have competition. But don’t expect a € 20 game with free content on a more than yearly basis.

Hopefully once RK releases, they are already deep into expanded the map. They should not just sit around and wait to see what its going to do before they decide to expand it. In this case, in order to make money, they have to spend money. If they already dedicated time to make RK to begin with, they might as well make time for post release and already be working on new content. Trucks and maps...trucks and maps. Work on expanded both and people should continue supporting. But eventually details on the map have to surface. A lot is riding how comparing that map to ATS. I think they have to out do ATS's 1:20 some type of way. 1:15 or 1:17 at the least.

I saw some of the screenshots and was able to coorelate their locations, it *looks like* the map size is going to be larger than 1:20, from one source (GameRiot), he said (*with hesitation* might I add) that the size of Jacksonville is 25 sq km.

I don't know how large 1 SCS map sector is, but if someone can tell me that would be great to know.

Unreal Engine has some mapping benefits, like being able to connect OpenStreetMap (OSM) and stuff like that for mapping purposes, perhaps they will utilize that to the engine's and game's advantage.

25 sq km is roughly the size of the Kansas City metro area in ATS, if my back-of-the-napkin math is correct:

According to Shiva, a sector covers about 80x80km in real life, or about 16 sq km in-game. viewtopic.php?p=2057490#p2057490. So that green box is about 56% larger than a sector.

Also from Shiva, this is roughly what the Missouri sectors look like:

Hmmmm. So we shouldn't expect the entire US with RK then. Maybe the entire Southeast is their plan if things go well.

We also don’t know the scale discrepancy between cities and roads. Cities could be ATS-size but there could be longer distances between them, for all we know.

Lol maybe I should start a Road Kings locations map. Or maybe not, that signage makes me want to cry  Maybe Saber is wrongly assuming that those things are copyrighted, or they're just not interested in realism.

That's also definitely not what the houses on Valley Forge Rd look like: https://www.google.com/maps/@30.3935567 ... FQAw%3D%3D
