I have to say besides the bad signage the screenshots don’t look too bad on the realism. I think Snowrunner’s off road physics are pretty challenging especially with a wheel and staying in cabin as much as possible so it will be interesting to see how they handle OTR physics but I remain optimistic. I can enjoy something Simcade if it has the right balance and options RK could be my OTR version of Snowrunner. Definitely will keep my eye on it.

I think it's by far the most interesting "competitor" we've seen crop up. It's got a proven team behind it and a publisher capable of investing in it. Not sure it'll be for me, but I'll also definitely be keeping an eye on it.

The road signs is definitely the only negative I have for RK at this point. They are pretty bad and looks like they are made for people with 20/70 vision like me without my eye wear lol.

I agree with your opinions, especially regarding the fact that SCS has some serious competition for once ;) This can only be good for SCS; it can be a source of inspiration and ideas, as well as a way to boost itself and push forward even more.

I'll also be keeping an eye on this game. I've activated tracking on Steam and added it to my wish list ;)

I agree this is good for SCS. They can see how people react to things offered in RK. I will do more than keep an eye on it though. If it supports my wheel, shifter and button box, I’m buying. I have bought a new pc build that has been sitting in boxes for 1.5 years waiting for SCS to push the limits of their games. RK might beat them to the pushing. So I wanna maximize my setup’s potential. Can expect RK to add content if people don’t support it. I will give them the same grace I give SCS. I have watch ATS grow for going on 10 years. Why not watch and support another.

I'd be surprised if they bother simulating a manual let alone range and shifter, I haven't bought any of their trucking games since Mudrunner for that reason.

Sniwrunner while didn’t have shifter support did have diff locks , ranges, etc you could switch on your wheel. Mudrunner was super basic I didn’t care much for either but Snowrunner was a much more involved driving experience.

I have to separate Snowrunner and Mudrunner vs RK. Those games are fictional based. If the devs have actually been watching SCS's fan base and our feedback, I'd have to imagine they carry as many things that SCS does and build on that. The gear box is a huge miss if they don't go with manual for those of us that want to play that way. Too many truck setups can be seen on Youtube with manuals. Too many wheels support manual. Huge miss for the developers.

I refuse to do automatics though. If they choose to go automatic only, then my dollars won't support them. They are the devs and if they are willing to alienate the many potential fans for something that actually exist, well I can't put my money there. I'll just be an outside spectator. If they can cater to everyone and how they want to play...why pay for what I'm not getting. SCS doesn't truly have manual transmissions either but they set it up in a way that we can play that way and that is good enough for me to enjoy the game the way I want to. So we'll see what they support and what they don't.

I wonder if they are interested in getting licensed trailers and cargo. But I feel like they won't.

Maybe down the road. Heck we only have 1 in ATS and its not even a US brand. Maybe US trailer manufacturers are not approachable right now. That or SCS isn't trying hard enough.
