Re: Kenworth Trucks Discussion Thread
Precisely. People used to argue that truck reworks will happen well in the future, but it's happening now, in the present. ETS2 already has a third truck rework announced and ATS is at #2. ATS has so many new trucks in the pipeline so they will have enough bandwidth to rework trucks at any given instant. So "won't ever happen" makes no sense. It's just not gonna happen in a year or two.
But ... I really do wonder why they didn't take the ETS2 route for the T680, like they did (are doing) with the different generations of the FH, the Actros, and the TGX. The T680 doesn't even come with all those tuning pack caveats shipped with the FH4 (and probably the Actros MP4 too).

It's happening now? We know they're working on it but most players don't really care until there's news about it or it's being released. That's the only reality where I would apply the word "happening" lol For now, only the W900 rework happened so far (it's ATS here). It happened because we actually got it.
And they only announced the Peterbilt 389 rework on stream many months ago. Anyway, like many other projects, the radio is currently dead, for no obvious reason.

I’m talking about truck reworks in general, not the T680 rework.

Re: Kenworth Trucks Discussion Thread
The fact that SCS released the limited edition w900 in literally a couple of weeks suggests that, if truly desired, a truck could be made much faster than a year. Personally, I suspect the only reason it's taking so long is because the new trucks are being released for free, not as separate paid DLC. Personally, I think it's better to pay and get the new content much sooner rather than several years later. To back this up, note that new buses for ETS and jeeps for ATS are being prepared for release at breakneck speed and have at least some regular news regarding these DLCs. As a fan of this developer's series, I can only say that I'm truly disappointed in the developers' communication with players. After all, what's the point of a New Year's stream with content for the coming year if, throughout the year, we get completely different content that has nothing to do with the New Year's stream? Don't think I'm being unreasonable. I've been patiently waiting all year, checking the news every day, and haven't written a single negative review. It's just that now the New Year's stream looks like a mockery to me. We'll show you something that you'll see in your favorite game someday, or maybe you won't, but don't worry, we'll release something else entirely.RolexRolls wrote: ↑28 Sep 2025 15:46I'm sure we're going to have a new truck before the end of the year, we'll only have three months left. But I'm not sure if Kenworth is going to be the one. I think there are other brands that really need new and reworked trucks like Peterbilt.SergeyKenga wrote: ↑28 Sep 2025 13:25 It's so frustrating that it's been almost a year since we were shown the w990 and we still haven't seen a single new truck from the New Year's stream in the game.
In any case, SCS, thank you for an amazing game, but I still hope that someday you'll have a worthy competitor, it will do you good.
Thank you for your attention, and You may find my letter overly negative, but this is only due to my poor knowledge of the language, just in case, I apologize.
ps: SCS, I've been playing your games since 18 Wheels of Steel, but I only registered a year ago

I stumbled over something strange in game.
Is it normal that the 2022 Version of the T-680 has only access to such a limited number of transmissions? Or is this a bug?

^ Newer trucks for the most part have less configuration options than older trucks. It's like this in both games.

Re: Kenworth Trucks Discussion Thread
The 389 reworks was part of the 2024 Christmas stream.
It has nothing to do with being free. They have to go through approvals with the manufacturers. Trucks can sit for months until the right information/approvals come thru. Just because a mod can do it in a year, doesn't mean something official from SCS can. There are no approvals with a mod.SergeyKenga wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 14:03 I suspect the only reason it's taking so long is because the new trucks are being released for free, not as separate paid DLC.
