Same.

I just completed that first part when it was released and came to decision I'm not touching it ever again any time I can imagine nearby. It's been months since then and my opinion hasn't changed for a bit.

But there's nothing stopping me from completing my old good usual deliveries - because, well, why any surrounding things would?..

Trying to gain all of the achievements (before the Academy) didn't get me luck anyway for those kinds of "deliver to 5 gallon stations" or how it's called - at some point they started to be too annoying leaving me no fun of game.
Got myself into map exploration percentage if I want some "game completion" and it does that part perfectly, just apart the driving joy itself ;)

I do want to complete the last part of Academy 1, but first I need to recover from an injury so I can spend the time redoing it every time I fail.
I'll probably look at part 2 and try and get at least 2 stars on scenarios.

The trick with most of the X deliveries ones is to use owned trailers to reduce the pool of jobs available. And using the sleep function to skip time.

I think of all the hard work, the thought, the care and attention to detail that went into every aspect of the Driving Academy, and I cannot find any desire to use it, for a long time I thought was it me? But no, there are problems with the Driving Academy that have not been addressed, and maybe they will never be addressed.

When I first downloaded the demo version of ETS, and I saw the driving academy, wow, this looked so exciting, what I was hoping for, is that you cannot play the game without passing "levels" within the driving academy, sort of feedback loop, you gain access to more of the map through the passing of levels, and in the driving at that level, there are so many wonderful aspects of ETS/ATS, the skill level points, the owning of garages, so that you earn points, to qualify, but to do the next level, you need to pay $125 000, or $250 000, and you need to buy a truck, trailer, pay for damage, insurance..

Driving Academy is such a powerful wonderful brilliant aspect that if very slight changes made, over time, would enhance ATS/ETS.. I would do the lessons if playing ETS required it, but at 1500 hours, and hundreds of deliveries, it is not something I am all that interested in as it stands.. And that is a sad depressing state to play the game in.. I love ETS and cannot wait to get home and drive.. But the bugs in the academy that never seem to be sorted, leaves one feeling frustrated..Why?? Please fix the academy?

And what bugs are those exactly?
The time to complete 3 stars is not a bug.

I'd say the Academy in SCS is pretty much the same as those "driving schools" in other car games and actually reminds me a lot about our driving schools IRL (around me). There isn't much what might be potentially done to "fix" it. It's just the type of gameplay which doesn't fit everyone which is surely okay - especially taking into account coming to that after hard working day to relax, since I'm mostly doing the same lately.

Relax with a couple of deliveries? Yeah, that's cool.
Relax with trying to streak 3 stars at the Academy? I would never do it voluntarily (honestly, even if I have a day off work )

Seeee, the double stuff is without time attack or "you have X amonsts of direction changes" and all of a sudden it fiels like a driving school and I really learnt something. Never thought I could reverse a double between to trucks, but it happend. Of course I stopped the moment I had the steam achievement, but you really forced me to be a better driver  .

In a simulation game, this is kind of a surprising "complaint ".

>Knowing your skills and knowing not to get in a situation like that, that you have to use such precise skill level, is a sign of truck driver that does not know his own skill level."

While there might be some truth to this, life happens - even to extreme professionals. Experts become experts BECAUSE of tackling extremely challenging situations, not because they avoid them.

Then with experience they know what they can and can't do. But, this to say, life isn't perfect and every single job you have on a daily basis doesn't go exactly accordingly to plan. If it did, then I would actually see this as a game and NOT a simulation.

I believe you have it backwards. If every job assigned was the most perfect scenario, then that would be a game. But because it's not, like in real life, it's more of a simulation.
