Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

That, and it's very possible that Volvo probably changed the naming scheme for linehaul application recently, probably when i-torque replaced XE, since when I first looked at it (when they released i-shift with crawler at first, for the 2nd generation VNL(2003-2017) back in 2016) everything I found seems to show that the naming pattern was c1-c2 for the crawlers and 1-12 for the rest of the gears

^ My recent conversation with Mr. Morrow, now he's driving a MY25 VNL with 500/1950 I-Torque D13TC + 13 Speed I-Shift + 2.16 RAR and confirming currently it displayed as 1-13 on the dash on his truck. My comment is on the top recent one.

Very interesting, so for the 14-gear it could be either C-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14 or 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14, while for the 13-gear it should be 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13.

Now, the one thing I would be curious would be for the other configurations (Straight torque, and the vocational usage on the VHD)

What if, there's such a thing as line-haul exclusive gearbox and vocational exclusive gearbox, is it possible to replicate them in your transmissions and engines pack? I reckon it's going to make things complicated

I don't think the gearbox themselves are exclusive. For me it look more like the programming and display will be dependent on the package used.

I will have to check, that said since i-torque seems to be basically the restricted to lower differential ratios, it should be possible for me to have some differentiation somewhere

For my mod, I will probably have to do 3 engine variation of each (one for Super-Direct, one for i-Torque and one for Straight Torque), but at least it won't be as bad as managing the XE packages of the older engines (it was a real pain in the ass of having to do that, 5 variants of each engine!)

And each of the package comes with a certain gearbox yes? Super Direct limited to 12 and perhaps 13-speed Direct Drive, I-Torque limited to 13 and 14-speed Overdrive with fast/aggressive rear axle ratios, Straight Torque I'm not so sure, could be 12 and 13 speed Overdrive with slow rear axle ratios

straight torque would basically be "anything goes".

Super Direct and i-Torque seems to be similar, but differently optimized (super-direct seems to use a 12-gear direct drive gearbox with a low axle ratio, optimized for hub-to-hub transport under 80k GCW, while i-torque use an overdrive one with the same axle ratio as Super Direct, but is more optimised for general transport with very aggressive downspeeding)

The all-new 13-litre engine announced by Volvo for European market, with power range from 380 hp up to 560 hp and torque rating from 1800 Nm up to 2900 Nm
