It doesn't help that your graphics settings seem to be ridiculously low.raskol wrote: 03 Jun 2026 14:18 Why hasn't SCS Software updated the rainy road reflections yet? They look really blocky and outdated, which ruins the immersion. They seriously need to revamp and improve this feature because it looks quite bad right now

Same would go with performance, with people with old pc be thinking like multicore or dx12 would resolve their problems with performance. Later they would still blame scs for bad fps

I have graphics settings maxed out and I still find the reflections in the road surfaces during the rain very weird and blocky. They look like a pixelated censoring.automaton wrote: 03 Jun 2026 17:29It doesn't help that your graphics settings seem to be ridiculously low.raskol wrote: 03 Jun 2026 14:18 Why hasn't SCS Software updated the rainy road reflections yet? That's true. Unfortunately, I can only agree – the reflections on the roads during rain are just awful. Many sims/arcades, even those that are far from new, have much better reflections.

The reflections are passable. They just need some tweaking. But the effects of roads (and other surfaces) becoming wet and drying out have to be redone from scratch.

Re: SCS General Nonsense Thread
SCS Software could easily fix the rain reflections using rasterization, or just by applying something like SSR (Screen Space Reflections). Right now, the reflection covers up the road's normal mapping, creating an annoying overlay. It leaves behind these blocky, square-shaped artifacts on the ground. This is literally the only effect in the game that still feels outdated
Guys, SCS Software added fake global illumination in the 1.60 update, and it completely transforms the game. That old, flat darkness is gone. If you look closely at the buildings, you can really see the difference. This might honestly be the best feature they've added

Or that the traffic lights have longer yellow timings, or more accurate mirror fov, or reflective surface on ALL signs. Quite few details are missing in ETS2 and it make no sense.Aziz wrote: 03 Jun 2026 17:16 Truth be told ETS2 is few features behind ATS, so maybe it's time to get into feature parity at better pace.
But of course, features like modeled manholes the truck's suspension reacts to, will probably never exist in ETS2. Something I don't understand why.

Surprised they never updated the mirror FOV for ETS2. Convex mirrors are basically useless in that game.
