You state it as a fact, i correct you on that it is not a given fact because no one outside SCS knows anything about, i make a guess but dont claim it as a fact.Bandit & The Snowman wrote: 17 Jul 2026 16:43 That’s enough for you to lose your temper? You even admit you know nothing about it, so who’s to get a grip, lol.
Well, whether you like it or not, we know there’s at least one manufacturer who is pretty narrow-minded. Apart from destination panels, we might get all features in trucks eventually, not just lights (rear-view cameras for rigids maybe?), that’s more than enough to be of interest to manufacturers.
The actual point is though, existing trucks won’t be touched just for those features. We’ll have to wait, and wait, and wait.

Don't some trucks already have interior ambient light that turns on with the ignition or normal exterior light switch? I recall Scania and maaaybe Renault T? Almost sure they didn't take those away, tho I admit I haven't played in a long while.
It's not configurable, I know, but last time I checked it was there.

"Manufacturer approval" and "manufacturer feedback" are two different thingsoldmanclippy wrote: 17 Jul 2026 17:51They're not talking about renegotiating the license. SCS would probably have to go back and get specs about the types/brightness/etc of the lights if they don't have it, and get feedback from the manufacturer after implementing them. This is a kind of thing SCS has talked about before. I'm sure none of the manufacturers would say no unless they didn't have staffing to help with it. But they would still need to be involved.VirtualTruckTravels wrote: 17 Jul 2026 15:58
Stop with this license thing you know nothing about the licensing deals, neither do I but i seriously doubt you need to renegotiate interior lights... that all trucks are born with irl. Get a grip its getting out of hands with these replys about licensing to everything discussed.

The 2016 Scania has red backlighting, but it does not add full ambient lighting, but only provides a very localized light.Aziz wrote: 17 Jul 2026 17:57 Don't some trucks already have interior ambient light that turns on with the ignition or normal exterior light switch? In this regard, the blue backlighting in the Volvo New VNL performs a better ambient function, although it is also quite spotty.

Interestingly not a word about openable doors...
Wonder whether the destination display is static render of all cities in all languages (hope not Removed - Rule 2.3) or a dynamic text field. The latter will finally allow modders to introduce user defined texts on "displays" all over the truck (and trailers, why not?).

I have a feeling, judging by the looks, it might be a static text in standard latin alphabet. More specifically, in English. Prague, Venice, Luxembourg from the pics and video. Klagenfurt am Wörthersee shortened to just Klagenfurt.
Making me wonder, what's gonna happen to other long names. Banská Bystrica. Clermont-Ferrand. And few others.

The game already has shortened versions for names like these, e.g. "B.Bystrica", "Clermont", "St.Petersburg", etc.
