Licensed Michelin or Goodyear tires 245/70 R17.5 are also needed.

Unfortunately I think the performant solution is raytracing. Which SCS will never do because “potatoes”

Nah, it can be done without raytracing, the mayor bottleneck the game has right now is the lack of multi-core support but there are performance friendly ways of doing it.

I'm pretty sure it was still raytracing, just an approximate or heavily optimized kind, and not running on a dedicated part of GPU, but coded in some more generic way.

A lot a stuff blocks light in the game not only from sun or moon
But you need to create an illusion not natural ways this will never happen
It's just a game not RL (tm)
All other games does the same, creating an illusion of real world objects

I think some folks have an idea that raytracing is always computationally expensive. It is not, at least not for everything. There are some forms of it that aren’t that way like shadows, some forms of lighting, reflections. Etc.

Raytracing is not supported on older GPUs

Min specs need to change the recommended won't cut it

If is not computationally expensive (even in a properly optimized game engine) then is not proper Ray Tracing, just rendering tricks, which have been used for decades before Ray Tracing became mainstream.

Anything that can count supports raytracing. You can do raytracing with a pen and paper. The only question is time it takes, i.e. performance.

You're thinking of GPUs with specific hardware to accelerate raytracing. They are not always necessary.

There were sometime ago test with raytracing on non rtx gpu and it works, but not in reasonable performance
