While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.

Re: [TOOL] - Templates for 3rd UVMap - 1.9.x Skins
If you read carefully you'll notice that these skins have a special attribute... alternate_uvset. if that one is not set to true, the skins use the second UVMap... thus work as before...

@sirgeo: If you read the entire thread, you would not have to ask this question...

Just fired up 1.9 beta and my Volvo and MAN skins work fine as in 1.8, but the Scania R doesn't.
Going to test these guys out real quick.

Re: [TOOL] - Templates for 3rd UVMap - 1.9.x Skins
Hello
I want to know that who made these UVMap layout, is SCS ? ohaha?
And I can't see the benefits of these layout, they are all symmetrical so we can't make different graphs on different side, and I think the text on one side will be horizontally flipped. (maybe) What is most important is that I don't know how to use it
Finally,is there any guide to make OLD STYLE TEMPLATE files on my own? I'm working on making 4096px paintjob and all templates on Internet are not large enough.
Sorry for my poor English

Re: [TOOL] - Templates for 3rd UVMap - 1.9.x Skins
These are templates for the new type of skins (read the first post carefully). They work with the alternate uvset and they are symmetrical!
For asymmetrical skins you must use the old type (no alternate uvset).
They can be found in Goro's Dev Skin Pack.

Thanks you ohaha, but it seems to be old files, no new trucks available.
And I still don't know how do these 3rd uvmap files work
So I decide to ignore them and continue using Blender to help me make hi-res paintjob with low-res templates

Re: [TOOL] - Templates for 3rd UVMap - 1.9.x Skins
They work exactly the same, but they use a different UVmap.
And they can be used on all trucks... So, you make one dds file and apply it, via definitions, on any truck model (provided they are properly made, if they come from a mod).

Re: [TOOL] - Templates for 3rd UVMap - 1.9.x Skins
Ok one question from me here. Do the new metallic paintjobs use the 3rd UV map in any way or is it possible to have a metallic paintjob on a 2UV-mapped truck?
The smallest details always make the biggest difference.
Re: [TOOL] - Templates for 3rd UVMap - 1.9.x Skins
They work the same way. If you specify alternate_uvset: true, you get the 3rd UVMap.
All default SCS skins use 3rd.
