I can't find the cone model...

#1 Post by SimulatorSam » 19 Dec 2014 17:19

I'm trying to find the model of the cone in STDS and can't find it. I would like to put that model into ETS2, and replace them tall construction cones. <-- (How would I do that anyway :lol: )

Not sure what "them tall construction cones" are.

But that cone in the picture is model "/model/scania_competition/red_level_6_barrier.pmd".

It is already present in ETS 2, so no need to convert anything. Same path/name in both games.

And I want 'Them tall construction cones' to be replaced by the cones in the first screenshot ;)

I see. Overall replacement or to exchange individual items in the map?

Anyway, problem is: the cone available in both games is listed as type "model". The tall piece is listed as of type "sign". But you can, of course, add the PMG/PMD of the tall one to the model list, with a new name. Or make the cone a new additional sign, whatever you prefer.

This is the cone in /def/world/model.sii:

Code: Select all

model_def : model.965 {
	model_desc: "/model/scania_competition/red_level_6_barrier.pmd"
	distance_type: 1
}
And this is the tall thingy in /def/world/sign.sii:

Code: Select all

sign_model : sign.289 {

	sign_name: "Trafic barrier"

	model_desc: "/model/sign/misc/traffic_barrier.pmd"
	model_coll: "/model/sign/misc/traffic_barrier.pmc"

Could you copy and paste 'red_level_6_barrier.pmd' and 'red_level_6_barrier.pmg' to where the tall construction cones folder is, then rename them to what the tall construction cones used to be named?

Might work if there's no specific variants or looks
Btw, that's definitely not a cone! I've seen cones, I know how they look like, and that's not it! :D

Do you mean them tall things that we don't know the names of, or the ones in the first screenshot?
