TH8A Shifter - Mapping 7th Gear?

I'm loving ETS2 with my TH8A shifter. But it doesn't appear possible to map it's 7th forward gear. I'd love to do a custom range giving ability to select 7 forward gears. Does anyone have a recommendation about how to do this? I've read the options here, http://www.eurotrucksimulator2.com/input_config.php, but can't understand if this would give an option to map a 7th gear position.

first look into controls.sii (in your profile folder), there is sequence of gear stick position mixes (you may have different line numbers).

the few that are set up are standard 7 (6+reverse) that most shifter uses. they are in options ui. but you can set much more. just get button number and manually fill "mix gear8" in similar way.
then you can create your own layout for shifter (files gerabox*.sii) that uses this input - gear_impulse_index: 8.

Thank you Max! Can I name my own Gearbox*.sii? Such as Gearbox_Mine.sii? And then I'll have the option to choose a shifter option called "Mine" (for example)?

EDIT: Thank you. I got it done by editing the gearbox_splitter.sii file. Now have the primary mode accessing 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 & R. Works great for my driving style.

just note that in one of previous update was changed work with custom gearbox layouts.
currently any file with name "gearbox_layout_*.sii" (if correct) will be read and made selectable in game options.
