ETS2 Studio [v0.7.0.1 > 10.01.2016]
What is ALPHA in ETS2 Studio
I am trying to match a real world color to my truck skin. The first attempt seemed good but it gave off a glow when in direct sunlight. I have been fiddling with the "scs color selector" in ETS2 Studio, and I am getting very close by trial and error.
But I would like to have a better understanding of what is going on. I use paint programs so I understand the other functions (hue, brightness, saturation, etc) but I am not sure what Alpha is. Apparently it is opacity (transparency)? But how does that relate to the truck skin?
What will high Alpha or low Alpha do to a color in a truck skin?

The "Alpha" layer is what provides the "gloss look or reflection" of the model. The "darker" the Alpha Channel the more chrome looking the end result will be.
As for the color matching, if you look at a real vehicle that is painted (say) candy apple red but does not have a clear coat and//or is left un polished and compare that same color to a high gloss and polished finished vehicle with the same color it will look different, especially when light is shone directly on it. With this game, the Alpha Channel represents the clear gloss and polished finish on the truck and has a similar effect on the trucks color.
Hope that makes sense.

Hi,
Can I duplicate companies in the data file but in different subheadings?
I explain:
I use Promods and jazzycat trailer pack.
The same companies appear in both company folders eg Bauhaus.
I have separate subheading for Promods and jazzycat. Can I put this company under both subheading without causing any problems?
It would look like this in company window:
PROMODS
Bauhaus
jazzycat
Bauhaus
It would make life so much easier if I could as it would eliminate so much scrolling to check if a company was in the list or not.
Thanks for help.

I'm testing a custom skin on the trailer "Fridge 1" by MDModding and receive damage without impacting something.
I could have done something wrong or is something of that trailer?

@silverbiker - yea, I think you can do that.
@D4NTRUCK - I don't see how you could do anything wrong, but I also never seen the issue. Will look into it.

My ETS2 Studio is buggy. It was working fine this morning, but now the truck skin image is not laying on the truck properly. Its the same png. I am working on the w900 and added the truck to the Library. I have no idea what is going on.
It appears the top half of the png is mirrored on both sides of the truck. And neither side is correctly placed.
It was working fine this morning, and I have been using ETS2 Studio about twenty times a day for two weeks, so something has changed.
I have tried reinstalling it (extracting). I re-extracted and imported the w900.
Help.
Here is a picture of just the template as the truck skin image png. The hood is on the back and the back is on the hood. It is not in the right place and one side is a mirror of the other side (its not two halves of the template, but one part mirrored).

Are you sure you are using the correct template and the Alternate UV set or not?
That is, try with or without alternate UV set.

Yup, that was it. UV off and it works. Thank you.

Yes. It's in the works, but progress is very slow due to 'real' work.
A slight move in the right direction was done today:
www.mods.studio is up and running.
