Fair enough. I didn't realize that the config file was not present in your case, though you did hint it in your first post.

Thanks for posting the direct link.

Yes, it would be nice if devs could look into this, however, let us remember that this is an old game. Great game, but old.

The thing is that they put it on Steam not so long ago... but at least there is workaround and it is visible in steam forum and here. Maybe there should be a sticky thread? :)

I had the same problem and it was that the config.cfg was not created like it should have been. I got ET2 from Steam. OpenGL was the prefered renderer for Prism3D (the engine used on all SCS games) until ETS2 came out (I don't know about UK or German Truck sims since I don't own them), so it's weird that ET2 didn't run well under OpenGL. Even ETS ran better and more graphical options with OpenGL than with D3D. I don't know why the game doesn't create it's own default config.cfg file, but this is the message in the game.log

Code: Select all

17:46:13 : exec /home/config.cfg
17:46:13 : [sys] Failed to execute (/home/config.cfg), the file does not exist.
I tried everything I knew to get this to run under OpenGL on Windows 10 and it constantly crashes. Guess D3D is the way to go.

Nevermind, I got the game to work. I just did forget to convert the config from txt to cfg.
