Forum Discussion/Suggestion Thread
Re: New Forum Discussion/suggestion thread
By the way, I'll upgrade the forum to 3.2.1 in a few minutes. It should be quick.

Re: New Forum Discussion/suggestion thread
Okay that didn't go so well, reverted back. I'll monitor this forum and upgrade when people figure out what's wrong.

Re: New Forum Discussion/suggestion thread
Question. Is it NECESSARY to update any way? Does the update offer anything worth the time and effort to do it all?
I had a similar thing happen the last time Timmy played with the forum, I had to manually delete all cookies or the forum would just bounce me around the log in page.

Of course it's worth updating, it's a security related update.
There was a problem with cookies after forcing HTTPS and forcing secure cookies - it isn't a problem anymore as I've renamed the cookie on June 20.

Security is cool, you know so long as it doesn't involve TSA agents.

Re: New Forum Discussion/suggestion thread
It looks like url tags aren't allowing steam:// protocol links since the update. They were very handy for linking to workshop items (e.g. [url=steam://url/CommunityFilePage/661658019]Subscribe on Workshop[/url]) so that the page opens in the Steam client rather than in the web browser. I don't know about others, but I don't usually log into Steam in my browser more than like 3x per year.

Re: New Forum Discussion/suggestion thread
Is there a way to increase the number of posts per page? Most forums let users choose that setting, but I can't find that option here.
If there's no way to do that, I'd like to see the default number set to 20. Ten per page was probably a good default setting back in the days of dial-up, but we've advanced a bit since then.
